Chronicles of a Street Photographer (Uncertainty) Day 7 / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, dear friends of #blackandwhite, how are you all doing? Last Friday was a day I made the most of, photographically speaking; there’s so much uncertainty in this country about the near future that I feel compelled to document how people on the street reflect it. That’s where this selection I wanted to share with you comes from.

Saludos, estimados amigos de #blackandwhite, ¿cómo les va? Este viernes pasado fue un día que aproveché al máximo, fotográficamente; es que hay tanta incertidumbre en este país sobre el futuro cercano que me urge documentar cómo las personas en la calle lo reflejan. De ahí está la selección que he querido compartirles.

The atmosphere is very heavy; you can see the mental and physical exhaustion in people, and the more I focus on that theme, the more images emerge; I get the feeling that the city itself is complaining.

La atmósfera es muy densa, se refleja el agotamiento mental y físico en las personas, y mientras más me enfoco en esa temática, más imágenes salen; me da la sensación de que la misma ciudad se queja.

Graffiti keeps appearing on the walls—signs of that wear and tear that’s consuming everything.

A cada rato aparecen letreros en las paredes, signos de ese desgaste que va consumiendo todo.

The future is unpredictable, and you can see it, breathe it in on every corner. Some people approach me, curious, asking what the photos are for; others prefer to be invisible; most don’t care.

Y es que el futuro es imprevisible, y se ve, se respira en cada esquina. Algunos se me acercan, curiosos, para qué son las fotos; otros prefieren ser invisibles; a la mayoría le da igual.

So here I go, documenting everything in my path—faces, details, things—before all of this disappears or I forget it.

Así voy, documentando todo a mi paso, rostros, detalles, cosas, antes que todo esto desaparezca o se me olvide.
