HUNGRY HUNGRY CHIPPER, Store, One Pile Shrinks The Other Pile Grows, Path - Tuesday
Yesterday morning I took the grease gun out to the chipper and greased the zircs I had access to which made things feel much smoother. The smoke was not horrible thanks to the winds still blowing south which kept it away from us.
I then spent an hour and 20 minutes running branches through the machine. It's not the hardest work but it is still rough on the hands as the branches start getting chipped. The branches shake and jerk around hard which need to be pushed into the chipper blades since it doesn't have a self feeder on it.
By 11:15 I had a good amount of the pile done.
And the chip pile had grown nicely. I headed inside to take a break and get some food in me.
I changed and then the boys and I went to Deer Park to get groceries. The fire response headquarters is at Mt Spokane High School which is just a couple miles from our regular Yokes grocery store so I went to Deer Park where less fire fighters would be. Thinking to leave as much stuff as possible in Mead for them if they need it. Though the community is supplying AMPLE amounts of water and food for the oodles of fire fighters and responders.
Back home I was back at the chipper by 2:30 and trying to get through as much as possible.
While I chipped the boys filled the wheelbarrow with chips and hauled it up to lay out on the pathway down from the art studio. I stopped chipping while they filled the wheelbarrow then went right back at it once they were out of the way.
After an hour I was down to a very small branch pile. Only one of the many trees I had hauled in from client's houses was left to chip, the first pine tree I took down. I have a shit ton of small branches and deep piles of needles that will get pushed through today.
The boys got their 6th load done which got the trail nicely covered for about 50 feet. I need to cut grass before they lay down more on the trail.
They did good leaving it a couple to few inches deep in chips in hopes that come mud season it will limit said mud on the trails.
I was BEAT and thankfully had gotten a pizza at Yokes to make for dinner.
Today I will finish chipping the branch pile and work on the pathways so more chips can be spread. I have lots of other branches around the farm that need chipping but they are spread out all over so will need to be gathered. Session this evening and we will go out after.

My FIL gave this one to me some years back and it is SUPER handy to have.
Just had a small arson fire 3/4 mile south of the house... Thankfully was only about 20 sq ft at base of a tree but not happy it was so close to home.
Strange so many arson fires...... I can't understand the motivation to set everything ablaze!🙄
Psychosis. Washington state is one of the worst for letting out the dregs of society. Actually it is the shitty "justice" system in this country in general.
