Wombats are Australian marsupials, herbivores, they can measure up to 1 metre in length and weigh up to 35kg. They move slowly but can run up to 40 km/h when scared. They have a backward pouch so their young don't get covered in soil when they are digging. Wombats are protected in every state in Australia except Victoria.

The Tasmanian devil is a carnivorous marsupial. They can run short distances at a speed up to 13 km/h , they can reach a length of length of 65cm and weigh up to 8kg. They are mostly solitary but occasionally eat with other Tasmanian devils. They can be found in the wild in Tasmania. It is believed Dingos may have killed off the species in inland Australia. There are no Dingos in Tasmania allowing them to survive at this location. They are now endangered due to a disease known as the devil facial tumour disease.
