David Hobson: I grow plants for many reasons: to please my eye or to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow.

🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 Good day, Hivers!! Happy gardening.. Allow me to share a few updates on my greens. A few days ago, I shared an update about the damage to my flowers and ornamental plants. Today, I'll be showing more of the greens. First is our sweet potato. My husband planted it in a styrofoam box. It was looking good after a few weeks. It's now ready for pruning and planting the slips. It's actually our first time growing this kind of sweet potato.

What we usually grow is ornamental sweet potato vines with no tubers. We grow them for their leaves.

* * * Lastly, our pineapple.. My husband threw this pineapple crown after I made juice. So when I saw it in the trash, I hurriedly grabbed it and planted it next to the sweet potatoes. Pineapples are easy to grow, so I didn't worry when I saw the leaves crumpled in the trash 😁

A few more months to go and we will have sweet potatoes and pineapple. Nature's blessing is endless when you have a garden. 🌿 * * * * * *
