¡Hola, amigos! ¿Qué tal? ¿Cómo están?
Hello, friends! How is everyone doing?

Baking a cake on a family member's birthday has become a tradition, at least in the case of an aunt I love and cherish deeply. Every year, her husband and I get together to make her cake with her—a recipe she has already taken the time to look up well in advance. They are usually not simple sponge cakes, so she almost always puts us to the test, but most of the time our experiment turns out great. Beyond the results, it's a time I really enjoy spending with them: we share, catch up, and even laugh at ourselves.

This is a cake she looked up months ago, and honestly, I think it will turn out really well. It's a chocolate sponge cake soaked with plenty of chocolate and cocoa powder. Then, we made a chocolate cream using both dark and white chocolate bars. Truth be told, I wasn't really focused on documenting the entire process, but rather the experience itself, which is what one truly enjoys the most in these moments. It makes me laugh because most of the time we have no idea what we're doing or how it's going to turn out, but we choose to enjoy the process anyway.

Literally, the cake was a chocolate sponge cake layered with dark chocolate cream and then white chocolate cream on top. On top of that, we added another sponge cake, which we covered with even more chocolate and chocolate chips. What I can assure you is that this cake is going to be very sweet and delicious (maybe a little bit rich!). In fact, one of our initial concerns was that the sponge cakes weren't very sweet, but once you add the creams and the syrup we soaked the cake with, I'm sure it will turn out amazing.

Here is a photo of the cake, and of course, see you tomorrow for my aunt's birthday!
