Por eso, el día de hoy quisimos mi mamá, mi hija y yo sorprender a una amiga que estaba cumpliendo años. Ella no tenía ni la menor idea de que íbamos a aparecernos con una torta, pues quisimos llevarle ese detalle sencillo, pero no sin antes hacerla sufrir un poco; decidimos no felicitarla en todo el día ni publicar absolutamente nada en nuestras redes sociales.
Hello, friends! How are you? Welcome to my blog. Friendships and life should always, always, always be celebrated. That's why today my mom, my daughter, and I wanted to surprise a friend on her birthday. She had absolutely no idea we were going to show up with a cake. We wanted to bring her this simple token of affection, but not before making her suffer a little bit: we decided not to wish her a happy birthday all day long, nor post anything at all on our social media.
Pero como no todo es perfecto, precisamente ese día nos quedamos accidentadas en una subida un poco peligrosa. Afortunadamente, donde vivo hay gente maravillosa que nos ayudó a solucionar, por lo que llevar la torta fue un poco más rápido de lo esperado.
But since not everything is perfect, that exact day our car broke down on a somewhat dangerous uphill stretch. Fortunately, where I live there are wonderful people, and they helped us fix the problem, so delivering the cake turned out to be a bit faster than expected.
De hecho, ella ya iba saliendo a comer con sus hijos, pero llegamos justo a tiempo para darle esta sorpresa, hacerla sentir especial y, sobre todo, abrazarla. Así que siempre amen, quieran y demuéstrenlo; tengan gestos bonitos aunque no sean grandes detalles. De verdad que, con todo lo que está pasando en Venezuela, es una gran lección de vida: demostrar el amor y decir las cosas en el momento adecuado es una de las cosas más importantes y valiosas que tiene el ser humano.
In fact, she was just on her way out to eat with her children, but we arrived just in time to give her this surprise, make her feel special, and, above all, hug her. So, always love, care, and show it; have nice gestures even if they aren't grand details. Honestly, with everything happening in Venezuela, it's a great life lesson: showing love and saying things at the right time is one of the most important and valuable things a human being has.
Y bueno, quedamos con ella en vernos luego con más calma, sin carros accidentados. Me pareció bonito compartir esta historia por acá con ustedes. Les dejo un abrazo enorme a ustedes también. Estos días han sido de mucho trabajo, bastante estrés emocional y, sobre todo, creo que lo que se viene implica un poquito más de fuerza, pero de eso les cuento luego.
Anyway, we agreed to meet up later with more time and without broken-down cars. I thought it would be nice to share this story here with you. I send a huge hug to all of you too. These days have brought a lot of work and quite a bit of emotional stress; above all, I think what's coming will require a little more strength, but I'll tell you about that later.
