Today I’m back to work, because my days off have come to an end and the routine is calling me back with a vengeance. I wish you all a great day and a prosperous week; mine, I assure you, will be packed with activity from early on. That’s just the nature of this job we carry out with responsibility and care, always attentive to any detail that might arise in the hotels and in the services we provide.
I want to tell you that yesterday, Monday, taking advantage of the fact that it was a holiday here in Margarita, we decided to visit a friend who recently had knee surgery. We wanted to see her, find out how she was doing, and spend some time with her. She is one of those people who, even when in pain, remains in good spirits and keeps the conversation pleasant. Being at her house was comforting, as always.
As we were talking, he mentioned something that caught our attention: at a shop called Autorepuesto JJ 2013 C.A., located in Juangriego, in the municipality of Marcano, they had some parts we needed for our car. His car is similar to ours, so he was familiar with the type of parts and knew they might have them there. That information was just what we needed, because we’d been wondering for days where to get those parts without having to order them from the mainland.
When our visit ended, we headed to Juangriego, wondering if the shop would be open. Even though it was a holiday, some locally owned businesses often open for half a day, so it was worth a try. We took the Portachuelo road, which is always a pleasant and quick route to get to that area.

The sky was clear, with bright sunshine illuminating the hills in the distance. The natural and urban landscapes looked radiant, as if they, too, were enjoying the day off. Driving through Santana and Tacarigua always feels special to me; their streets, their people, their colors—everything has a unique charm. I, of course, didn’t miss the chance to capture a few moments with my camera, because every corner of Margarita has a story to tell.

Amid the breeze, sunshine, and scenic views, we arrived at the shop our friend had recommended. To our surprise and relief, it was open. We felt the trip had been worth it.

The man who helped us, Oscar, welcomed us very warmly. Best of all, he actually had the part we were looking for—and in several different brands, too. He patiently explained the differences between each one and suggested which one would be best for us. Interestingly, it matched the recommendation another mechanic had given us a few days earlier, so that gave us even more confidence.
My husband, satisfied with the explanation, paid for the parts, and we set off to return home. Having those parts is essential for building the other engine, and that made him very happy. He had thought he would have to order them from off the island, so finding them here was a huge relief.

We left Juangriego, bidding farewell to its majestic hills, which seemed to escort us on our way back.
We took the Portachuelo road again and continued on until we reached home, where a well-deserved rest awaited us before returning to work.
