Oh man! You are so right, it is like somebody broke all of the worlds clocks when we have kids.
Mine are 34 and 26 now, that doesn't seem likely to me, I think I am 34!!! I am convinced somebody stole a whole bunch of years when I looked away.
It was a really nice day. Nothing particularly special, just a simple walk in the forest, but I came back home feeling happy.
That last bit is exactly why it was special.
The girls are the age where stuff like this is still a big, fun thing to them, it makes them happy... Which makes you happy.
Of course, as you already know, there will come a time when you ask if they want to walk in the forest and they will roll their eyes at their embarrassing Dad and put their headphones on to drown out your voice...
However, here is the bit people don't talk about and it always surprises me, they will navigate through their difficult age, mature and blossom and become fiercely independent (which kinda hurts, but that is how we know we did a good job!) them Mum's, Dad's, simple things and other relatives become a little more important to them again, this will grow inside them as they get even older.
I assure you, that although this seems, they will never ever forget the simple walks, the autumnal leaves and fallen trees and neither will you.
We have been on holidays as a family that meant we had to do extra work and save so hard to afford it to make memories... However some of the most cherished memories my girls have (and me and m'lady) are walking in the sun and especially the snow in our local park, and woods and forests.
Interestingly, they especially remember being allowed to wear boots and jump in puddles and have so, so many memories of Christmas of their childhood.
Sometimes, in fact, often, it is the stuff that was free, but cost some of our time to be with them...
That is the real gold!
Very pleased to see they are both very well again... Compliments to the pharmacist 😁
You and yours, be well 😎🤍🌻
