Hivechess Tournament Season 22 Round 7: @eniolw won convincingly!
Dear chess fans,
yesterday round 7 of S22 was played, this time as a single tournament for all 19 players.
@eniolw could bag his second win this season, and what a win it was! He berserked himself to a 13 point lead to runner-up @fcastro177! @southgamer gained the third spot, in front of IM @maestroask. Congratulations to All!

In the Masters tournament @southgamer could jump to the second rank, and @fcastro177 to the third. And in the Challengers @sammy00 was able to overtake @odic3o1.

@eniolw I just saw your comment on the tournament yesterday... Please it's disheartening.. it's hurts so bad when accused especially since i can't prove my innocence in this case..
Don't throw out accusations like that without proof too..I got lucky and drew a game with you means I'm playing unfairly??? Come on..
For whatever it's worth, I don't know that there's any active chess players around me here, my friends who play chess are even under 1000 and we're not even close...
Lastly, sandbagging is the last thing I'll do as far as chess is concerned. My biggest dream is to see my elo 2000+, so sandbag over what???
You should ask yourself, if I even want to cheat won't I just use engine assistance and top my category?
I have NEVER given my phone to any player to help me in these tournaments, I have NEVER sandbagged, and I have NEVER used engine assistance.

I didn't say you were cheating. I know of players of different strength who keep shared accounts, so I got some bad experience already. Besides them, I had never seen a 1700 player with such a resilience as yours in that game. It's just very unusual.
I'll take that as a compliment.
I'm not blaming you for having suspicions, it's a very human thing there's also a player I've had in mind for quite sometime now I suspected were sandbagging but I did some research and found out I was awfully wrong as it isn't really easy to cross certain elo thresholds. So I never gave voice to my suspicion as I simply had no evidence.
While it's unfortunate that there might be some guilty of those crime, it's just a bitter pill we have to swallow and not let it ruin the entire experience.
I'm particularly a fan of yours even though I haven't mentioned it before..
First I've learned quite a few things from the games we've played together.. there's this game where I played so badly but still ended up having a +1 advantage but I ended up resigning without fully assessing the position, I only found out during my review process the next day.

Then there's another where I learnt a tactic that involved sacrificing your knight which lead to a very quick mate... A 1900 tried to use it against me few days after we played and I just laughed as I knew right away how to respond.

It's unfortunate that there are people who throw around baseless words in my case. "@stayoutoftherz odic3o, you are quite strong for your rating, it is a bit suspicious.
@stayoutoftherz that accounts are used by other players I also sometimes assume, due to very varying performance, it is hard to prove and sad".
My numbers are real you can see my evolution, some bad days and some good ones, although I want to keep playing well. Since I'm not very fast, I rarely use Berserk."
Exactly, this summarizes my case also.. I have days when I play so well, in fact sometimes last month I reached a peak blitz rating of 1799 but then I still dropped to 1590 or so this month before climbing back up.
There's simply the bad and the good season which sometimes last more than a day, I just see all as part of the process of learning the kind of player you are, and also a path to a stronger you.
I was just reviewing my games now from the Saturday tournament and was like 'i shouldn't have berserk, specifically against justola, I know he's faster,( not necessarily better) with shorter time format and also has an higher bullet rating than me, I already knew this and still berserked anyways, which led to my poor performance. Sometimes it's just in our head, one minute you're playing incredible well, another minute you panic under time pressure or fumble from getting too comfortable with your great performance.
It's really unfortunate when you get accused from someone with no idea how much work you put into trying to make yourself better.
