I might have missed this detail, but at what point would Riftwatchers be included in the Modern gameplay? Would it be on the 27th?
The issue I feel like I will have is getting a chance to buy some of the packs. I have a feeling they will sell out almost instantly as stated above, leaving us "non whales" in the dust.
Nowadays the whole Splinterlands game favours the rich. This is why I do not like playing it anymore. They turned it into pay-to-win, instead of play-to-earn. The rewards in the Bronze/Silver leagues are nearly worthless. Splinterlands used to be so much better in the past. I started playing it on 2018.12.30. It used to be one of my favorite games. But nowadays it is very far from it. I rather play free-to-play games without any monetary rewards than playing Splinterlands.

RiftWatchers will be included as soon as the packs are able to be opened which is estimated to be on the 27th currently.
