Eighteenth Chess960 Hivechess Tournament Results
Hello everyone.
Here are results of the 18th Chess960 tournament with record 70 Hive in prizes. May edition also had most player participate in Chess960 tournament this year. It would be great if this trend keeps growing and and we have another record participation the next round.
We started tournament one hour earlier at 20:00 CEST (18:00 GMT) which seems reasonable for summer time so we continue with this time frame for next rounds.
Regarding time control for the next round there were two suggestions:
3 + 2 and 5 + 0.
Comment and choose one of those two time control for the next round.
Winner of the May edition is @maestroask (IM Odnoobraz). Impressive win with huge lead. Eleven wins in row and only one loss in first game (it was time out loss). Super performance. Second tournament win this year.

Second place this round is @jaki01 (jaki01). One more good performance with only one loss against tournament winner out of 9 games played.

Third place goes to @stranger27 (stranger27).Super placement in this strong field. Last game win was the one that secured the third position.
First podium this year and if I am not mistaken first one in the tournament.

Biggest upset reward goes to @lailawrites (Ohieku) against @mikmai (Lavidacontinua123). Nice win against one of the stronger players. Wins without no moves do no count.

Top 10 ranked players get 2 Hive each.
Top 5 players rewards : First place 13 Hive, second place 11 Hive, third place 9 Hive, fourth place 5 Hive and fifth place 3 Hive.
Players from 11th to 15th place get 1 Hive each (me excluded - next person gets reward)
Top 2 Under 1300 Elo players will get 1 Hive each - only @fiona777 (fiona777)
1 Hive for biggest upset of the tournament @lailawrites (Ohieku).
Additional 1 Hive for all wins - at least 7 games played.
One player played only four games with fifth one ongoing but it did not finish on time so we make it reward eligible.
I want to extend my most sincere congratulations to the winners and also to acknowledge the recognition given to the biggest upset, since it likewise stimulates the rise and the possible discovery of a new promise within this always attractive modality of chess.
