🦉 The Eurasian treecreeper or common treecreeper (Certhia familiaris)
- Certhia (Greek): kerthios - a small bird crawling through the trees, mentioned by Aristotle
- familiaris (lat.): common, easily recognizable

This bird, thanks to its plumage, blends in with the tree bark, but it is still easy to spot, as it is constantly moving and does not sit still. It moves from bottom to top in a spiral; unfortunately, it is not as dexterous and mobile as the nuthatch, which moves in any direction.

Surprisingly, this insectivorous bird hibernates. One can only imagine how difficult it must be to survive the winter. It hunts insects from under cracks in the bark and also eats tiny plant seeds.
