A Slice of London Chocolate Cake Drizzled with Coffee Sauce

Hi dear bloggers and community!! Happy holidays and have a great weekend. On this Saturday in early October, I went out with my friends to a coffe shop, this place called Common Folks it was my first time there. Judging by the decor and menu, they specialize in coffee and pastries. The place isn’t very big, and since it was the weekend, it was pretty crowded so much so that there was even a waiting list.

They even sell coffee in a pretty bottle that you can enjoy right away, and in their pastry display case, they have a wide selection of croissants, they even have bagels and sourdough here.

Here, I ordered their new menu item, the London Chocolate Cake, and the Fried Lumpia Platter. For drinks, my friend ordered palm sugar coffee, and I went with Yakult. The dish we ordered was quite intriguing, it's the London Chocolate Cake. It’s been the talk of the town in my area lately because of its beautiful shape and mouthwatering layers. Each layer consists of sponge cake filled with chocolate ganache and caramel cream with a hint of coffee. A sprinkle of salt adds even more depth of flavor. I tasted both sweet and bitter notes in a single bite of this slice, it’s the perfect way to kick off the month. This cake is truly delicious.

The soft sponge cake pairs perfectly with the sweet and bitter cream, I think I’m in love with this cake. And the best part? When drizzled with the coffee sauce, the cake becomes twice as delicious; the flavors just come together perfectly. I’m currently cutting back on my coffee intake, but for this one, I think I’ll keep coming back for more it’s so addictive.

As for the Fried Lumpia Platter, the portion is quite generous and it’s delicious, too. It includes creamy fried lumpia filled with sausage and onion, as well as spring rolls filled with shrimp, rice noodles, and vegetables. But my favorite part is the fried sweet potatoes sprinkled with parsley, yummy... I love them. Maybe next time I’ll come back here to explore the food and drinks they have because everything looks interesting. Okay, that’s all for today see you in another story. Thank you
