Manual weeding and Cultivation of more land space

Happy new day to us all. It’s a blessing to see the light of the new day and be privilege to healthy enough to pursue our daily task.

Yesterday we were out with both weeding and cultivation of more land space for farming. While I engaged in weeding of the jute mallow that has now been covered up by grasses the boys were cultivating more land space for planting other crops.

Currently we have gotten only about 3-4 laborers who have been very helpful with cultivation of the land as we do not have an opportunity to a mechanical method of cultivation of the land using machines. Mechanical tillage of the land is often faster and cheaper but those means are not available yet. Tractors and mini tillage machines are very expensive for an average farmer here and the government that is supposed to make these available for lease to farmers are not investing so much in agriculture in this part of the world. left to our fate and whatever we can do to help ourselves with our farm work

The jute mallow are now well grown and ready for harvest but we cannot harvest them with grasses within, almost of the time when crops are harvested in that manner some poisonous grasses can get attached to the harvest and if our consumers are not careful while picking their veggies for food they can end up eating something bad along side the vegetables. A single bad leaf can give your soup a terrible state. While we weed out these grasses in order to harvest majorly the needed veggies, it is also important that consumers be mindful of what veggies enters their pots.

Aside this one of the great disadvantages of having grasses among veggies is what we are currently experiencing now.
The leaves have all been punctured by either some sickness.some grasses attract insects to crops causing damages to vegetables most especially. Hence it is advisable to keep vegetable farm very much clean enough from grasses. Sometimes we have to weed grasses about 2-3 times before the sets of veggies are harvested from
their time of planting.

We got back home quite late and I didn’t have the energy to share with you the activities of how the day went.
