251 LOH; My Values

Almost everyone is being guided by one or two values that's one of the major reasons we make our decisions, choose our friends and acquittance based on our values and beliefs.

Right from birth there are some values I learnt from my parents and I've grown to make it's my guide in making the major decisions of my life.

As a living being there are some values you need to practice consistently to keep you in track for your life's goal. For me my three top guiding values are:

  • Self respect

As a lady, you must respect yourself in whatever you are doing or wherever you might be. When you look down on yourself, others will take you for granted. The extent you carry yourself determines how others see you and appreciate you.

So I don't compromise at all on my self-respect, I carry myself with high esteem so that other people will see me, appreciate who I am and reciprocate the same to me.

  • Contentment

For me contentment is being happy in one's situation and satisfied. Contentment is an important value everyone must have in this life because a covetous fellow will end up ruining his or her life. I got to understand that we can't have everything in life, there will surely be an area where you will be lacking and someone else will be sufficient in that aspect.

So you just need to be contented with what you have at that particular moment then plan towards what you have in mind, not longing earnestly to get your need at all cost. Contentment is very essential in life because coveting over what others have can led you to doing evil.

  • Perseverance

Perseverance to me means not giving into discouragement, opposition or previous failure. In all things in life one needs to persevere, never give in to failure because I believe after every failure, success is ahead. Failure is just like a little set back to make you prepare fully for your success stage.

This value is the most challenging practice for me but I think I'm holding onto it so dearly because at this stage of my life I can't give up. I need to keep preserving because I'm certain I will finish the race stronger than I've started it.

I will never relent because I believe my success story is around the corner. So far I'm living and still moving, giving up is never an opinion!

Self respect, contentment and perseverance, that trio reads like the foundation you stand on, not just values you mention. Refusing to let yourself be sidelined by low self esteem, resisting the pressure to always want more and pushing forward even when things get tough, those are quiet choices that shape real character. Trusting yourself enough not to quit, even when the finish line isn’t in view, says everything. That confidence and resolve shines through your words.

Yes contentment is so often overlooked, but we should also keep focusing on what we have and be grateful as well. Self respect is also a wonderful value to uphold.
