Silhouettes of Winter : Sunbursts, Clouds, and Bare Canopies

As winter strips leaves, the naked branches become elaborate graphic designs against the dynamic skies. The backlight effect of the setting sun highlights silhouettes of the organic, mood-filled, and linear branches.

In the first photograph, dark and thin branches cross against the sun rays that shine from behind a dynamic cloud cover with a green kite perched atop the higher branches.

The second photograph shows a single tree that glows during the sunset with branches creating a nesting place for a bird while the sky is dotted with golden mackerel clouds.

The third photograph transforms the scene into a high contrast black and white photograph highlighting the pure forms.

In the last photograph, a moody view along the path with trees creates an elaborate graphic design of branches reaching toward the horizon.
