As usual, this is just a crappy preview, check the link below for the full res and animation

My last piece in this similar concept was decently popular over on Makersplace so I decided to make it a series. The "Layers and Slices" Series. In the end there will be three

https://makersplace.com/midlet/watermelon-slices-1-of-1-35968/

I thought a lot about how much I wanted to change the other pieces in the series and decided I wanted to keep things fairly similar in composition, and elements, but just change the content. I thought about how they would look next to each other as a set in a virtual gallery and thought it would be cool if they all clearly go really well together.

This one was a bit more challenging because of the hair. My 3D work is usually pretty graphic and abstract and I don't have a ton of experience with CG hair but I figured out a decent solution. Although I couldn't get it to slice like I wanted which is why this version has less slices, but in the end I ended up liking that anyway.

A peek behind the curtain

That's about it, check out the piece and if you're in the buying market, drop a bid if you feel so inclined. As I'm composing this post, the first bid has already rolled in :D Hopefully today will be a good day! See you all in the next post.

Since you ignored the request I downvoted... NSFW literally helps those that perhaps use Hive front ends at work or in other public settings where those users could get in trouble.

I hear you, and I changed the thumbnail to the more abstract image, but this is an art community and nudity in and of itself is not NSFW. At least I don't think it is and I don't believe most do.

Is nudity, in and of itself, nsfw?#art #artistsontwitter

I am not diminishing its value it is simply if this will be safe for people to open at work and in a public environment.

Would you and all your friends be perfectly fine with opening this post at their work or at school?

Yes, and I'm not just saying that which is why I literally did a poll. I can only imagine it depends on where you are geographically or maybe your job, but yes it would be totally okay for me and anyone I've asked to open this at work or in public.

K then consider the ongoing results of this poll

I'm not saying this is a common occurrence but there is the possibility people can literally get FIRED... loose their entire income if they break the rules of their company. Now that's more likely if if wasn't a simple mistake and they're actively looking for trouble with things much more sexual in nature. But... nevertheless their co-workers don't know their intentions and many can be mean-spirited.

Yes and we have a very simple tool it's adding these letters to a tag #nsfw ... or post in a community that is marked that way. That's what we can do it solves the problem

Well I'm not arguing against the use of a NSFW tag if it's warranted. I'm saying

  1. In this specific case, it's not
  2. If a person is in the extreme situation where they can literally be fired for accidentally having ANY form of nudity on their monitor, they should have the common sense to not browse websites that have anything to do with creative content like art, and risk their livelihood rolling the dice that the world will use nsfw tags to fit their extremely uncommon circumstances.

Why don't you want to use NSFW tag? Maybe this is the issue to ask about.

  1. As I've said, I don't think this is nsfw and since that's clearly not landing I'll try to be more specific.

Super mainstream YT makes a distinction between artistic nudity and just about all websites that revolve around user generated creative content all are similar in this regard.

nsfw needs to be reserved for what I would umbrella under "adult content" sexually suggestive or erotic content. Nudity in and of itself is not erotic or sexually suggestive.

  1. As the admin of OCA, the things I do end up becoming precedent and this is a terrible precedent to set for an art community.

  2. If you want people to actually see your content, it's much less likely they will if it's hidden behind even a single click. Now of course if I thought the content was nsfw I would, but I honestly don't so the only reason I would even consider it is because you asked me to, which is not a reason for me to do something I disagree with. Although I did change the thumbnails a a show of good faith, but at the end of the day, I just simply disagree with you.

May also be worth noting, this is on the front page of Makersplace and has been since I posted it, as was the last piece that also featured artistic nudity.

From a conversation I had w @rootdraws, it would seem that they do not feature nsfw content on the main pages, but I don't know that for sure, it's anecdotal.

Cryptovoxels is conservative as well.

if you have a show where you are showing off artistic nudes, don't @cryptovoxels on twitter.

They are trying to sell to apple, and don't want to be perceived as a 'boys locker room'.

I personally wish that Makersplace would revisit these things, and that superrare would come out with their NSFW option, and that opensea would come out with their NSFW Classification --

Rarible has a NSFW flag / section, but it's unclear how to access it.

BAE supposedly is clear for NSFW art.

And then you've got Memefactory.io and NFTShowroom, that have checkbox style options.

Knownorigin is also conservative.

.:.

But I see people like yourself, and kittyshebast, and katyarrington and reinhart -- and a few others doing nudity and pin-up work, as well as some weird implied sexuality in that abstract bosch sense.

And then the onlyfans women are moving on Rarible.

The game is afoot.
