Summer transportation
These photos were taken on the summertime city streets of Chicago. They all show various ways of getting from one place to another.
What would be your favorite way of getting around?
A City / Cruiser Bicycle is
traditional with a front handlebar basket is convenient for a quick trip to the mRket.
Electric Unicycle (EUC)
Is a self-balancing, single-wheel electric vehicle with side footpads where the rider stands upright, controlled by body weight shifting (leaning forward/backward to accelerate or stop)
.I had a guy show up at my front door this week. riding one of these while dstributing campaign literature for the primary election. His candidate was not one I would ever vote for and I promptly threw the info card in the bin.
This Front-Loading Cargo Tricycle / with Electric-assist was down along the lake shore The three-wheeled design features a large front cargo box with seats and a protective canopy for carrying passengers.
Spotted this custom Lowrider Schwin bicycle.
It is full of decorations and I saw Nintendo characters (Yoshi near the handlebars and Donkey Kong mounted on the front stem), and a Raggedy Ann doll, among other plush toys
Penny Board / Skateboard
This bright green short plastic Penny board is equipped with wide wheels for smooth sidewalk cruising.
In-Line Roller Skates (Rollerblades)
Traditional non-motorized inline skates featuring four wheels aligned in a single row attached to supportive boots.
Cargo Electric Bicycle (E-bike) has wide/fat tires for stability, rear mounted safety railing, a front-mounted basket and was carrying a small dog.

Excellent analysis of personal street transport. What do I prefer? I have a bike.
But you can't ride roller skates, we have hills, descents and ascents.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful street bicycle experience. I love the last slide mostly because it has become prevalent here in Lagos.
To avoid traffic and get to shops early, business men commute in the morning with it.
Meanwhile, i tried the roller skates when I was younger, but the experience wasn’t beautiful so I dropped it.
The decorated bicycle also caught my attention.

I'm more of a regular bike. So I also do workouts.
Bike riding is good exercise! And gets you to your destination quicker!

I want to buy my daughter a pair of inline skates. She has wanted them for a long time. I am still waiting for the right moment to buy them for her.

Agree, people use an increasing number of vehicles for transport. It depends, usually I think, on a distance they want to achieve.
Cruiser bicycle is my favourite; apart from moving me from one point to another, it's also my keep-fit machine

Same here! I gave my beloved bike away because I am unable to ride it these days, but bike riding used to give me a lot of enjoyment.

I think I’d choose the regular bicycle. 😄 It looks simple and fun and I’d definitely get some exercise while getting around. The decorated bike was really cute though!
When I was able, I used to love riding my bike. It is good exercise.

In the last 20 years I've had four Trek/Kona mountain bikes and worn each of them down. I miss the ride before I had to give them up for a Nissan Leaf EV. That was after my second bike accident fracturing my collarbone, my Roommate insisted that I must get a car, "You can afford it."
She was right.

I'm glad you are being safe. My MS prevents me from doing physical activity these days, but I miss long bike rides.
