A Wednesday Walk in Chicago

These images are for #wednesdaywalk with @tattoodjay.

This delightful horse corral, decorted with colorful dyed pebbles around the edges and placed for the whole neighborhood to admire, reminded me of my childhood days!

Peonies are blooming along the sidewalks in neighborhood yards and brighten up the walk with delightful photo opportunities! They remind me to take time to smell the flowers, because I love their scent!

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a Wonderful World

(And I can keep it that way as long as I avoid news reports!)

Have a great Wednesday!

Beautiful peonies! I especially love the bright red ones, we don't see many of those around here.

You should also take some more pictures of the buildings as those look very different on east coast compared to the ones we have here on the west coast.

I have made many posts in the past showing Chicago homes and I expect you will see more! There is a distinctly different feel to the architecture in many neighborhoods. I suppose it depends on which immigrants settled there

I think the child must have wanted everyone who walked past to enjoy the horses! They made me smile

The perfect walk. The horses were very beautiful especially the brownish orange one leaning against the tree. The flowers are no less beautiful, if I didn't read your article, I would most likely be fooled by the appearance of the flowers, which are very similar to roses

Seeing those toy horses and imagining the child who put them there made me smile!

Peony bushes are hardy in our winter climate. They die back each fall andcome up anew each spring and bloom for a short time. They don't have thorns!

The last 2 photos are roses.

Hmm, in my head Chicago is big houses, gangsters, bandits. But your Chicago is a very nice friendly city.

Like any big city there are problems with drugs and violence and guns (because it is the USA) But mostly there are lovely quiet neighborhoods!

Those horses bring back lots of childhood memories for my. I had a good handful of the Breyer Horses, I thought they were the best! The big blonde horse on the top right look like Breyer and the baby laying in front of the little white horse does too. Those were the days!

Peonies do smell wonderful. Even when their petals drop, I put them in a dish and they continue to smell nice for a long time.

Enjoyed your post.
