Almost a mix-up ( Gold beetle )
I took a picture of a beetle and almost made a mistake.
Since I don't know much about beetles, I tried to research it.
And it led me to the Green June beetle. But with more detailed research, I learned that this beetle lives mainly in the USA and Canada.

And that there are small chances that it can appear in Europe and Serbia
And our local name is Buba zlata - gold beetle so it helped me not to go far across the ocean.
Sometimes a local name is enough to identify a species, unless it's too local. It's happened to me before that in my area we call some insects differently than in the rest of the country.

Gold beetle - Rose chafers - Cetonia aurata are all names for this beetle.
It is distinguished by its characteristic metallic-green coloration, which often shimmers in shades of yellow and red (copper).

It is often seen during late spring and summer.
It lives throughout southern and central Europe, as well as in the southern parts of Great Britain.
Green June Beetle is very similar to our golden beetle, I think they even belong to the istor family
Only unlike its American cousin, our golden beetle is a smaller pest. It is considered a negligible to serious problem. So it does not cause big problems in agriculture and gardening. Probably because their numbers are not large.

The flight of this beetle reminded me of a tractor taking off, it's very loud and buzzing, like a bumblebee.I was attracted to this metallic green color, how diverse nature can be.It's like someone painted it.
While I was researching the golden beetle, I learned that ours cannot bite, sting, and is not dangerous to humans or pets. And that its only defense is to play dead, like my beetle, or to just fly away.
Thanks for reading.
Until next time.
Stay healthy.
