The January 2018 futures contract is trading close to itsearlier highs, at around$18,300. That’s up from an opening price of $15,000, andahead of the ‘spot’ price - which is closing in on$17,000 tonight.
@steemoffice...It looks that Bitcoin will rise again. Bitcoin can rise to 50'000 or even 100'000. Who knows. I think there are so many uncertainty with Bitcoin, so I concentrate to Cryptos with real potential. Bitcoin can get destroyed through China. Bitcoin is very slow, is expensive, can never replace Gold etc. For me, there are too many risks.
Wise move, staying out. Funny how so many putting their money into BTC at these levels are ignoring all of the folks who comment on the technical aspects of BTC's weakness. Increasing fees now so high that those are higher than mining incentive! This coin is now white hot in terms of danger levels.
If crypto is really your bag, buy into something that has a future. IOTA is the best one - at least when the Fed or the ECB decide to tax/ban/shutdown BTC this will never get hurt. It's got a future use for commerce and the IOTA foundation are a registered non-profit "company" in Germany.

However, Clif High has called the SEC market's attempt the "action of shooting themselves in both feet". We will see if that is true over the coming weeks and months.

the Bitcoin Cash pump scammers tied to manipulate the Bitcoin price down and the Bitcoin Cash price higher about a month or so ago. My understanding is that the manipulator flooded the Bitcoin network with a massive number of fractional transaction requests.

Thanks Greg, as always, excellent video with actionable information, thanks for looking out for the little guy/girl. Very educational regarding watching the futures market in regards to bitcoin price direction and the bond market for general stock market direction. So true that you have to know your being "gamed" to try to offset being "gamed." In regards to the bitcoin price going forward, I think that the "fees" now being charged to make bitcoin transactions, may be contributing to the recent decline in bitcoin value. On Oct 10th/11th I went to move some monies from my Abra wallet in bitcoin and noted a fee of 30.00 dollars, didn't matter if I was making a 100.00 dollar transaction or a 300.00 transaction the fee was still 30.00. This was a huge increase from prior fees. I emailed Abra and they responded that they were just passing on increases in bitcoin transactions fees related to bitcoin price and mining fees. I emailed them back that these types of fees were prohibitive to using bitcoin and their wallet. Sounds like these increased fees to do transactions in bitcoin are occurring everywhere. In my opinion this is a precursor to the end of bitcoin as a "useful" monetary tool which is it's base function (alternative currency). Will need to turn to other "alt" curriencies. Of course this is likely the plan all along, get all the smart people in the world interested in cyrptos due to the money making potential, to improve on the initial digital crypto "bitcoin." Of course, this would one day render bitcoin a relic. Are we seeing that now, or will it be down the road, or never. I don't have that answer, but I am with Greg that now is not the time to be investing in bitcoin, need to look towards other "improved" cryptos. Best of luck to all going forward. I buy cryptos in $25 increments. My crystal ball doesn't tell me when something has reached the bottom. I'm purely a speculator. If I don't immerse myself, I won't be able to understand the emotional swings and how to deal with them.
I spent $200 on btc. I'm not buying anymore. Im going to stare at the line squiggles and learn. I honestly think it's foolish to bet large chunks of money on something I don't understand.
The wait and see approach was absolutely correct with regard to Bitcoin -- well played. I also think that the impact of futures trade cannot be underestimated. Looking for opportunities trading the major indices via options on ETFs, e.g. SPY, QQQ, etc. is a more prudent strategy.
