De verdad, ¡verdadita! Amo viajar | Agosto y Power Up (Es –En)

A veces creo que me he equivocado en muchas cosas, pero después se me pasa, como dicen los memes de la ranita. Entre estas grandes equivocaciones fue la elección de mi carrera universitaria. Pues debí estudiar turismo, azafata o una vaina parecida que me permitiera viajar. De verdad, verdaita, amo viajar. Sobre todo estar en carretera, sentir la brisa en mi cara y dormir es una de mis experiencias más gratas.

Sobre este aspecto tengo muchas anécdotas, que recordarlas me hace reír demasiado. Un fin de semana un grupo de amigas y yo esperábamos en una cola para llegar hasta Cumaná. Se paró un señor que iba con camión de ahuyamas para Carúpano, y nos íbamos a quedar en la Encrucijada, que está en la carretera nacional Cumaná-Caripe. Todos nos quedamos dormidos y nos despertamos el otro día en el mercado de Carúpano.

Recuerdo con mucho cariño esos momentos que significaron mucho para mí. Aunque no lo crean y a pesar de me gusta ser copiloto ¡qué va! Es una ocupación que no va conmigo, porque hay que estar pendiente de que el piloto no se duerma. Entonces hay que hablar pendejadas, reírse de sus chistes malos, poner la música y agarrarse fuerte en las curvas, por si acaso el piloto se cree Fittipaldi. Cuando mi Esposito dice:

-“Pon música”.

Es porque ya estoy en el quinto sueño, como decía abuelita Bertita's. ¡Imagínense! Sí, al chofer le gusta el vallenato. De terror. Otro aspecto que no tolero es ir en medio entre el chofer y otra persona. Cabe destacar que generalmente en los carros de línea en los terminales, en la parte de adelante pueden ir dos pasajeros y el movimiento del vehículo te lleva y trae. Es horrible y ese vaivén me produce mareos y náuseas.

Hablando de viajes, revisando mi disco duro portátil encontré fotografías de momentos inolvidables que pasé con mi familia en Mérida, conocida como la ciudad de los caballeros. ¡Wuao! Quedé enamorada de tanta belleza, destacando “La Venezuela de Antier”, un parque temático y para mí una de las mejores atracciones. Otros lugares fascinantes que visité en mi viaje en el año 2009 son el pico El Águila, el observatorio, el Monumento de la Loca Luz Caraballo en Apartaderos.

Me falta mucha carretera que recorrer, lugares que visitar y amaneceres en Venezuela; espero tener la oportunidad de alcanzar este sueño.

Sometimes I think I’ve made a lot of mistakes, but then I get over it—just like the little frog memes say. One of those big mistakes was choosing my college major. I really should have studied tourism, flight attendant training, or something like that that would let me travel. “Seriously, for real,” I love to travel. Especially being on the road, feeling the breeze on my face, and sleeping—it’s one of my most enjoyable experiences.
I have so many stories about this that just thinking about them makes me laugh so hard. One weekend, a group of friends and I were waiting in line to get to Cumaná. A man driving a truck full of “ahuyamas” to Carúpano stopped, and we were going to get off at La Encrucijada, which is on the Cumaná-Caripe national highway. We all fell asleep and woke up the next day at the Carúpano market.

I have very fond memories of those moments that meant so much to me. Believe it or not, even though I like being a co-pilot—no way! It’s not really my thing, because you have to make sure the driver doesn’t fall asleep. So you have to talk “nonsense,” laugh at his bad jokes, put on some music, and hold on tight on the curves—just in case the driver thinks he’s Fittipaldi. When my Esposito says:
-“Put on some music.”
It’s because I’m already fast asleep, as Grandma Bertita used to say. Can you believe it? Yes, the driver likes vallenato. It’s terrifying. Another thing I can’t stand is sitting in the middle between the driver and another passenger. It’s worth noting that on most buses at the terminals, two passengers can sit in the front, and the movement of the vehicle tosses you back and forth. It’s horrible, and that rocking motion makes me dizzy and nauseous.
Speaking of travel, while going through my portable hard drive, I found photos of unforgettable moments I spent with my family in Mérida, known as the City of Gentlemen. Wow! I fell in love with all that beauty, especially “La Venezuela de Antier,” a theme park that, for me, was one of the best attractions. Other fascinating places I visited on my trip in 2009 include El Águila Peak, the observatory, and the Monument to Loca Luz Caraballo in Apartaderos.
I still have so many roads to travel, places to visit, and sunrises to witness in Venezuela; I hope to have the opportunity to make this dream come true.

¡OMG! Llegó agosto, mis amigos de #Hive y este mes siempre ha sido especial para mí. Hoy, 3 de agosto, me hicieron recordar las ansias con las cuales esperaba mis vacaciones para viajar. Generalmente, iniciaban la primera semana. Doy las gracias al universo por haberme permitido vivir bellos momentos. Es un mes muy bonito y de sol radiante, algunas veces con mucha lluvia.

El año 2026 ha sido todo muy complicado y el 24 de julio quedará marcado en la historia de mi país. Desde ese día no tengo ánimos ni siquiera de escuchar música. Pero hoy les dejaré una gaita para dedicárselas a mis seres queridos que viajaron en busca de sus sueños y mejor calidad de vida. También para los hivers venezolanos y a los que les gusta la música como a mí. Sí me preguntan si soy maracucha. Les responderé:

Soy oriental, de donde el diablo dejó las chanclas y le dio flojera devolverse a buscarlas. Desde el año 1967 tengo mi residencia en la Primogénita del Continente.

OMG! August is here, my friends at #Hive, and this month has always been special to me. Today, August 3, reminded me of how eagerly I used to look forward to my vacation so I could travel. It usually started the first week. I thank the universe for allowing me to experience such beautiful moments. It’s a lovely month with bright sunshine—though sometimes with a lot of rain.
The year 2026 has been very complicated, and July 24 will go down in my country’s history. Since that day, I haven’t even had the heart to listen to music. But today I’ll share a gaita with you, dedicated to my loved ones who set out in search of their dreams and a better quality of life.
