The big picture of LUV

The goal and roadmap of LUVshares remains unchanged: to spread love around the Hive blockchain.

Since the last quarter's report, approximately 30,000 LUV tokens have been given out. Almost all were given out Hive-user-to-Hive-user by calling the !LUV command. That's around 333 every day, person-to-person, each time saying, "Here, have some LUV."

Notes:

• Bad news/good news. The bad news is that the farming/pilfering/stealing of LUV has returned. If you look at Graph 1 above, you can see an obvious spike in emissions toward the later dates (the past two or three weeks). A ring of users, likely one person, has been using multiple alt usernames to farm the token. About 80 alt names were uncovered, there are likely more. It's just sad. Worse, this person then dumped them on the market and tanked the LUV value. The dump is rather obvious in the market chart below. LUV really has larger goals beyond market price, but still, it's just sad. Now, the good news! The crypto winter may be over! If someone is willing to go to a lot of trouble and time and effort and user accounts to steal a token worth less than a penny...then there must be hope!
• Can you help stop this type of token farming? Yes. Join the LUVHBIT Discord and occasionally glance at the luv-log. Another place to look is https://he.dtools.dev/@luvshares?symbol=LUV. If you see repetitive giving to the same person, reach out to @crrdlx. If you really want to dig in, reach out to me or @wesphilbin and join the "Inspectors Discord" which exists for this purpose.
• More good news. From the transparency department, I/we (the admins at the LUVHBIT Discord) have set up the @LUVfund. It's still being fleshed out, but it's a reserve of LUV. The purpose is, on occasion, to grant LUV "scholarships" to users or projects that fit well with LUV's mission.
• One thing I find exciting is the new PeakD Open Project chat tool. The LUV (and HBIT) community chat page is at https://chat.peakd.com/t/hive-159259/0 and you're invited to join! Say "hello!" - I'd love to chat with you there. If you go there, login with Keychain, then at some point you'll likely need to select "decode". Then select "General" and you'll see the chat. Just realize, it is currently in alpha testing stage.

Best practices

I'd like to emphasize one point for LUV:

1. Leave an upvote.
2. Leave an authentic, genuine comment.
3. Include the LUV command.

The purpose of LUV is to share love on the Hive chain, not really to share a token. The token is simply a digital manifestation of that love, something "digitally tangible" if there is such a thing. Thus, the real comment is the key for LUV.

Summary and final thoughts

LUV continues to grow. At times, it's frustrating, especially when abused. But, to create something that others use daily, something that is positive and wholesome has been very rewarding.
