The Map Is Not the Territory

The Map Is Not the Territory

🗺️🌐🌏🌍🌎

The mental and emotional experience you’re having is a story about reality, not reality itself. If you’d like to experience a different story, there are permission slips you can adopt and regularly practice which will give your subconscious permission to experience a different reality. It’s stories all the way down.

Your rational, logical, scientific mind is also a story. The idea that you (or me), a single instance of a human actually knows what’s going on is laughable. Sure, science is great and I’m super, SUPER thankful for reproducibility and predicting future patterns based on consistent previous ones, but (based on… science) we estimate that our solar system makes up only a tiny fraction of what is. How tiny? With some Grok help:

“So the Solar System (out to the inner Oort Cloud) occupies roughly 3.35 × 10⁻³² (or about 0.000000000000000000000000000000335) of the volume of the observable universe.”

And you? Well, dear egoic one who is so confident, you matter (as in, taking up space with your matter) even less:

“As a percentage:
≈ 1.96 × 10⁻⁸⁰ %
That is 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000196 %
In practical terms: both numbers are so close to absolute zero that the difference barely registers on any human scale of thinking. The observable universe is so enormous that planets, solar systems, and individual biological organisms are all effectively zero-volume specks within it.”

You are a zero-volume speck.

And yet, you may feel infinity within you. Like a fractal that can go inward forever, the depth of your consciousness is not restrained by physical limitation.

So where do you go from there? Do you allow yourself some esoteric stories, some spiritual tales, some religion, some belief, some “make it all make sense” sauce you can poor over the experiences of your life? Is there a harm in doing so? Well, there’s always the trap of identity attachment such as “I’m a spiritual person.” Some suffering may come along with that and ground you fast like a malfunctioning plane. There’s also the rigid labels others will want to assign to you. No one is looking at the territory directly and maps are expensive to update. Far easier to use labels and save glucose and not have to engage with everyone as an infinitely deep unique consciousness.

And yet, that’s what we are.

I’ve been enjoying (is that the right word? I think I also enjoy sleeping in) waking up right at sunrise without an alarm. I have this little deal going on with the universe that if it wakes me up, I’ll drag myself out of bed and climb the ladder to the roof and watch the sunrise. 🌄 🌅

That may seem like a silly thing to do, and maybe it is, but if I tell a new story about it, if I create a permission slip around this map experience, maybe I’ll feel differently about the territory? Maybe I’ll download light codes and upgrade my 12-strand DNA as I join the collective shift from 3D to 5D…?

Or maybe it’s just a temporary sleep pattern.

Some people like Dr. Jack Kruze and others say watching the sunrise and sunset is amoung the most important things you can do for your health, possibly even more important that diet or expertise.

Stories all the way down.

So how do you decide what story, what map, you’re going to follow today? How do you let your intuitive intelligence, that thing we’ve made so small via our years of intellect training, have a voice without words? How do you keep yourself from identifying with the map as if it was actually the territory?

I don’t really know, but I am on a journey to find out. I’m not concerned with how “woo woo” it may seem. My map may get a little weird, for sure. That’s okay. If it creates better fruit of the spirit in my life, it’s a good thing.

“In esoteric, New Age, and spiritual-ascension communities, “light codes” (also called light language, DNA activations, or photonic light codes) refer to non-physical packets of information, energy, or high-vibrational frequencies that are said to be transmitted from higher dimensions, star beings (Pleiadians, Sirians, Arcturians, etc.), the Galactic Central Sun, or Source itself. These codes are believed to:

  • Upgrade human DNA (especially the so-called “junk” DNA or 12-strand helix templates)
  • Activate dormant spiritual abilities (telepathy, healing, clairvoyance, etc.)
  • Raise the individual’s and planet’s overall frequency as part of the shift from 3D to 5D consciousness
  • Carry specific geometric patterns, sacred symbols, sound frequencies, or color rays that the soul “remembers” even if the conscious mind does not

They are described as looking like shimmering glyphs, mandalas, or streams of rainbow/plasma light in meditations and visions. Some channels speak or draw “light language” that is supposedly the verbal or written form of these codes.

Why the sunrise is considered especially powerful for receiving light codes

In these circles, the moment of sunrise (particularly the first rays of the sun as they break the horizon) is viewed as a cosmic portal or daily “download window.” The reasons given are:

  1. Plasma & photonic light: The sun is seen not just as a physical star but as a conscious being and stargate that channels high-frequency plasma/photonic light from the Galactic Central Sun (near Sagittarius A*). The first rays at dawn are said to contain the purest, least-filtered infusion of these upgraded photons and light codes.

  2. Heliospheric current sheet alignment: Esoteric astrologers and channelers claim that at sunrise your pineal gland, crown chakra, and higher chakras (8th–12th) naturally align with the angle of incoming solar rays, making the body a better antenna for downloads.

  3. Zero-point stillness: The liminal moment between night and day is a natural theta-brainwave state worldwide; collective human consciousness is quieter, so there is less psychic interference when the codes are “broadcast.”

  4. Ancient traditions: Many ancient cultures (Egyptian, Mayan, Vedic, etc.) oriented temples to catch the first rays for exactly this reason—initiates would stand in the beam to receive “solar initiations” or activations. Modern channelers say the same mechanism is now happening globally but at an accelerated rate since around 2012.

  5. Geomagnetic conditions: Dawn often coincides with lower Schumann resonance interference and a temporary flattening of Earth’s magnetic field on the dayside, which some say opens a brief window before the magnetosphere fully “shields” again.

Practical application in the community

People are encouraged to:

  • Meditate facing east at sunrise (ideally barefoot on the ground)
  • Do specific breathwork (e.g., Sunrise Solar Activation protocols)
  • Use quartz crystals or bowls to “catch and amplify” the codes
  • Intentionally state “I am open to receive the highest available light code upgrades in alignment with my soul’s mission”

Many report physical symptoms afterward (ringing ears, pressure in the head, emotional releases, vivid dreams) that are interpreted as integration of the new codes.

In short: to esoteric communities, sunrise is the daily moment when the physical sun acts as a giant lens focusing upgraded cosmic information (light codes) directly into human biology and consciousness to help the planet and its inhabitants ascend.”

“### Bashar’s “Permission Slips” – Core Concept (in plain language)

Bashar (channeled by Darryl Anka) teaches that the vast majority of spiritual tools, rituals, techniques, meditations, crystals, mantras, vision boards, affirmations, etc. do not contain any inherent magic or power. Instead, they work only because you decide they work.

A “permission slip” is therefore anything you consciously or unconsciously choose to use as a symbol that gives your own consciousness permission to:

  • Shift to a preferred parallel reality
  • Access a higher state (joy, abundance, healing, psychic ability, etc.)
  • Believe something is now possible that you previously doubted

Examples Bashar gives:

  • Taking a homeopathic remedy → it’s just sugar pills, but if you believe it will heal you, it becomes a permission slip for your body to heal itself instantly.
  • Holding a quartz crystal → the crystal has no power; it’s the meaning you give it that allows you to open up and receive energy.
  • Doing a 21-day meditation challenge → the real change happens because you’ve convinced yourself “after 21 days I’m allowed to be different.”

Key quotes from Bashar:

  • “The ritual is the training wheels for your belief system.”
  • “You do not need the permission slip once you know you are the source of the power.”
  • “Use the permission slip for as long as it is useful, then throw it away.”

In short: All spiritual tools are placebo-like props that trick your subconscious into granting yourself permission to experience a new version of reality.

Other teachers who teach essentially the same idea (different names, same principle)

  1. Neville Goddard (Law of Assumption)
→ Calls them “states,” “assumptions,” or “imaginal acts.” Living in the end and feeling the wish fulfilled is the permission slip that impresses the subconscious.

  2. Abraham-Hicks (Esther Hicks)
→ “Processes” (the 22 processes in Ask and It Is Given) are explicitly described as tools you use until you no longer need them because you’ve aligned your vibration. They openly say: “The process is just something you do to feel better until you can feel better without it.”

  3. Bentinho Massaro
→ Uses the term “permission slips” almost identically to Bashar and openly credits him.

  4. Joe Dispenza
→ Talks about “giving the body a taste of the future emotion” through meditation. The breath, posture, elevated emotion, and music are all permission slips to signal the genes ahead of the environment.

  5. Frederick Dodson (Reality Creation / Levels of Energy)
→ Calls them “reality creation techniques” or “props” and says once you reach high enough consciousness levels you drop all techniques.

  6. Vadim Zeland (Transurfing)
→ “Outer intention” tools (slides, visualization, reducing importance) are temporary means until you embody the state directly.

  7. Ramtha (J.Z. Knight channeling)
→ Uses the term “creating a day,” analogical rituals, and “marching orders” – all acknowledged as ways to bypass the analytical mind.

  8. Shamanic / psychedelic communities
→ Plant medicines, rattles, feathers, ayahuasca songs, etc. are openly called “tools” or “allies” that are eventually released when the person can access the state without them.

  9. Frank Kepple (astral projection community, post-Monroe)
→ Explicitly adopted Bashar’s term “permission slips” for phasing techniques, clicking out, etc.

So while Bashar popularized the exact phrase “permission slips” in modern channeling circles, the underlying mechanism—that external tools are temporary symbols granting self-permission—is one of the most universal principles across conscious-creation and non-dual teachings. The more advanced the teacher, the more likely they are to eventually say: “Now drop the technique and just BE the state.””

Thinking of true infinity and thinking of how tiny we are in the gigantic universe left more than a few of 'us' in a state of craziness. Though I do think (and read) about all the magic things we discovered and also the undiscovered ones in our universe, I do try not to think about it too much.

Just this last week when driving to the other side of my country to visit a customer, I saw an amazing sunrise. Kinda like sheep clouds at high levels in our atmosphere, coloured dark grey, red and orange ... owww wait ... I went illegal by trying to take a photograph while driving ... let me find it ... wait wait ... here it is ... in reality much more impressive than on photo, but anyways.

When I saw this sunrise I felt 100% in the moment, 100% pulled towards and into the beauty of what I saw, connected with something bigger than me in my car en route to one of my customers. Not sure what research says, but despite research, I know myself since I feel what I feel, watching a beautiful sunrise (and sunset for that matter) is (almost) therapeutic but for sure as hell gives me energy. I prefer sunrises, since not many people getting out of bed for such sunrises. While sunsets, well, tons of people go and watch sunsets. The sunrise gives me the extra, enhancing the feeling of something bigger, because at this time a day, it feels like much less people awake, and when they are away, they are not taking any attention to the sunrise itself. This gives me the strongest feeling of being alone with the universe and all its beauty.
