KBK Bookclub (February 14th) | Proposals for book #50

The next Bookclub meeting will take place at Królestwo Bez Kresu (@krolestwo) on Saturday 14th February (second Saturday of next month), starting at 18:00. The discussion will be held in either Polish or English. You can find more info here: @przeczytaj.

This post serves the purpose of gathering proposals and preferences for the next book to read. Everyone is welcome to vote or submit a proposal. The book with the most preferences received by midnight on Sunday, January 18th, shall be selected. Proposals and votes submitted after midnight on Sunday, January 18th, shall instead be disregarded. In the event that one or more books receive the same number of preferences, RCR voting powers shall be used as the deciding factor.

The results will be advertised in the KBK community page.

"Journey by Moonlight", by Szerb Antal - my favorite Hungarian novel (most of it is set in Italy, and it has romance as well, which @lpa missed last time).
Available in multiple languages, including English.

This one is widely available in English (and Italian), but not in Polish! I was only able to find only three books online (at very high prices), and no e-books. What a pity, we should ask piw.pl to release the ebooks. The alternative of asking the translator is unfortunately no longer an option, as he died in 2021.
