Unlocked Gold II League!

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!

Early in the new season, I unlocked Gold II League in Modern. It's great that I moved to this league early as it increased my SPS rewards earned per win. I was also rewarded with advancement chests that contained cards, among others. Advancing in leagues as you win more battles is part of the fun I find in playing Splinterlands.

Advancement Reward Chests

There are several rewards you can get from chests including legendary cards. The ones I got today were commons and rares. There were also potions, merits and energy. I like the cards best especially if I can get legendary cards but this time the ones I got were mostly common and rare cards. It's possible to upgrade the cards you have from getting these reward cards.

This is another motivating factor for me to keep playing. The possibility of upgrading my cards and making my deck stronger and competitive. My goal is to have a complete set of reward cards with level five commons, level four rares, level three epics and level two legendaries. It will take a lot of seasons but it will keep me motivated to play.

Featured Battle - Debuff For the Win

I have several fun battles but this one brought so much fun. It's a battle where I used a lot of debuff abilities to suppress my enemy. The rulesets included Junior Varsity and Reverse Speed. I was conscious of using these to my advantage especially Reverse Speed where I pick my slow units.

In this battle, I chose the Death splinter and the Frontier archon that decrease the health of the enemy. My tank was Ujurak Brave who has good defensive stats of three armor and nine health. In addition, he has the Silence ability that decrease my enemy's magic attack. I had Grim Bonewhip in second position. He's a melee card that has the Reach ability. He also has Rust that decreases the enemy's armor. In third I had the Dark Arborist, a unit that deals two magic damage. She also has Magic Reflect and Demoralize abilities that decrease the enemy's melee attack. Overall, that's four cards the debuff the enemy. Health, magic attack, armor and melee attacks were debuffed. In fourth I had Shadowfey Shiek who deals two magic damage and has the Life Leech ability. In fifth was my healer, the Arachne Weaver. Lastly, I had my new legendary card Nullwrought to harrass the enemy's back line. I chose slow units and only one in the team had three speed stats. Most only had two and will take advantage of the Reverse Speed ruleset.

The enemy used a magic team that was immediately debuffed by my tank. He had Thanalorian Scion in first position who boasts of a high armor stat but that was also decreased by two. He had Surgeblade, a strong melee attacker who was debuffed by my Dark Arborist. Overall, my team was stronger and had better synergy.
