A Space For Reflection
Steveston used to be a small fishing village that was highly active in the early days of the region. Many people of Japanese descent settled here in the 1800s to work in the fishing industry and grow into a thriving community. Now, this sleepy village has become a tourist attraction for its quaint good looks.
I was passing by the Steveston museum and post office when I noticed that there was a garden right beside it, designed in the style of classic Japanese gardens. As it turned out, the Steveston Japanese Canadian museum is located there as well. The building used to house offices for the Japanese school and hospital.

The garden is a peaceful and highly aesthetic oasis in the middle of the village. It reflects the spirit of the city's early history and the rich tapestry that is culture.

I'd love to have a garden with benches and seats decorated like that!
Isn't that a cool idea? The artist must've had a lot of fun painting it.
I would have had a right good laugh!
