Argentina - The Boca Juniors corner you have to visit during your time in Buenos Aires. / El rincón de Boca Juniors que tenes que visitar durante tu paso por Buenos Aires. 😃❤️

After having been surrounded by travelers from all over the world, I discovered just how valuable the City of Buenos Aires is from a tourism perspective. Perhaps as locals we do not pay much attention to it, but our area is full of interesting places to visit and explore. When I returned from my last backpacking trip, I decided to explore those corners of the city that others appreciate so much, with the goal of continuing to learn more about my own province. One of those places was the area surrounding the famous Boca Juniors stadium, and I found a neighborhood full of life and passion for football 😃.

Después de haber estado rodeada de viajeros de todas partes, descubrí lo valiosa que es la Ciudad de Buenos Aires a nivel turístico. Quizás como locales no prestamos tanta atención a esto, pero nuestra zona está llena de lugares interesantes para ir a visitar y recorrer. Cuando volví de mi último viaje de mochilera, me decidí a explorar esos rincones de la ciudad que otros valoran tantos, con el objetivo de seguir conociendo un poco más de mi propia provincia. Uno de esos puntos era el que rodea la famosa cancha de Boca Juniors, y me encontré con un barrio lleno de vida y pasión por el fútbol 😃.

While looking through the city’s tourist attractions, I realized there are so many places I still do not know, and now I have a long list of outings pending. One of them was the iconic neighborhood of La Boca. Of course, I had heard about it before, but I did not even know where it was located until one weekend when I decided to find out. Getting there took my sisters and me a one-hour train ride and another 20 minutes by bus. We traveled 30 kilometers before arriving, but we are used to these kinds of distances whenever it means seeing something beautiful.

Revisando un poco la oferta turística de la ciudad, me di cuenta de que hay un montón de lugares que no conozco, y ahora tengo una larga lista de paseos pendientes. Uno de ellos era hasta el emblemático barrio de La Boca. Por supuesto que había escuchado hablar de él, pero ni siquiera sabía en donde queda, hasta que un fin de semana me decidí a averiguarlo. Llegar hasta él nos tomó a mis hermanas y a mí, un viaje de una hora en tren y otros 20 minutos en bus. Viajamos 30 kilómetros hasta que llegamos, pero estamos acostumbradas a estas distancias con tal de ver algo lindo.

As expected, the neighborhood of La Boca was full of tourists, mainly because it is home to one of the classic postcards of a trip to Buenos Aires: the famous Caminito. But before stopping there for our photo session, we decided to explore the surrounding area a bit. I had heard comments saying that you have to move around this neighborhood carefully because once you get away from the tourist center, it stops feeling so friendly. However, at the time of our visit, everything looked lively and safe.

Como era de esperarse, el barrio de La Boca estaba lleno de turistas, principalmente porque ahí se encuentra una de las postales típicas de tu viaje a Buenos Aires: el famoso Caminito. Pero antes de detenernos ahí y hacer la sesión de fotos, decidimos explorar un poco los alrededores. Yo había escuchado comentarios de que hay que moverse por este barrio con cuidado, porque al alejarse del centro turístico ya no se vuelve tan amigable, pero para el momento de nuestra visita todo se veía animado y seguro.

When we left behind all the hustle and bustle of the crowds and souvenir shops, we arrived at the Boca Juniors stadium. This massive stadium, known as La Bombonera, is unmistakable because of its blue and yellow colors, and every matchday it gathers thousands of supporters. But it was not only the stadium painted in those colors — all the shops around it were as well. People have transformed these streets and businesses into true works of art that attract fans from everywhere. Everything looked so picturesque; I loved the area and seeing how the football atmosphere can truly be felt in that corner of La Boca.

Cuando salimos de todo el ajetreo de gente y tiendas de souvenirs, llegamos hasta la cancha de Boca Juniors. Este gran estadio, llamado La Bombonera, es inconfundible por sus colores azul y amarillo, y cada fecha reúne a miles de seguidores. Pero no solo la cancha estaba pintada así, sino también todas las tiendas de sus alrededores. La gente transformó estas calles y negocios en verdaderas obras de arte que atraen fanáticos. Era todo muy pintoresco, me encantó la zona y ver que el ambiente de futbol se respira en ese rincón de La Boca.

Club Atlético Boca Juniors is one of the biggest football clubs in Argentina. Its classic rival is Club Atlético River Plate, whose colors are white and red. When it comes to opposites, people will always ask, “Boca or River?”, usually getting almost the same number of answers in favor of one team or the other. Apparently, this rivalry has reached an international level, because many tourists also come to Buenos Aires with the dream of watching a match between the two, commonly known as “El Superclásico.” Of course, there is also a huge business surrounding all of this, with ticket prices reaching ridiculously high levels, yet still always selling out completely. During this visit, simply seeing the stadium from the outside was more than enough for me 😂.

El Club Atlético Boca Juniors es uno de los equipos de futbol más grandes de Argentina. Su rival clásico es Club Atlético River Plate, con sus colores blanco y rojo. Cuando se trata de opuestos, uno siempre preguntaría "¿Boca o River?", teniendo casi igual de respuestas a favor de un equipo u otro. Aparentemente, esta rivalidad escala internacionalmente, porque muchos turistas también llegan a Buenos Aires con la ilusión de ver un partido de ambos, normalmente llamado "El Superclásico". Por supuesto que también existe el gran negocio alrededor de todo esto, donde hay una venta de entradas a niveles ridículamente elevados, pero que siempre se terminan vendiendo por completo. En esta visita, ver la cancha desde afuera fue suficiente para mí 😂.

Visiting the area around the Club Atlético Boca Juniors stadium was an outing that made me feel a little like a tourist in Buenos Aires. I really enjoyed seeing this whole atmosphere, which felt very friendly, at least during the time of my visit. I imagine that on match days this place must become absolutely packed with people in good spirits, an experience I would also love to have someday, especially if it included actually going inside the stadium. As for me, if someone asks, “River or Boca?”, I will always choose Boca because my family supports this team. I do not know much about football when it comes to Boca, but I still firmly stick to that side 😅.

Visitar los alrededores de la cancha de Boca Juniors fue un paseo que me hizo sentir un poco turista en Buenos Aires. Disfrutó mucho de ver todo este ambiente, tan sano al menos en el momento de mi estadía. Supongo que los días en los que hay un partido esto debe ser una locura de gente de buen humor, una experiencia que también me gustaría vivir pero complementando con la entrada a la cancha. En cuanto a mí, si me preguntan "¿River o Boca?", siempre elijo Boca porque mi familia es simpatizante de este equipo. Yo no sé mucho del fútbol en torno a Boca, pero mantengo firme mi inclinación hacia este lado 😅.
