Argentina - A walk through the City of Buenos Aires at sunset: the perfect moment to take advantage of the warm light. / Caminata por la Ciudad de Buenos Aires al atardecer: momento perfecto para aprovechar la luz cálida. 😃❤️

Walking around the City of Buenos Aires is never a bad plan: no matter what time of day you choose to do it, you will always find something interesting to see. The weekend when I finally decided to go and visit La Boca turned into a day that was fully enjoyed from beginning to end. Although the main goal was to see Caminito, the afternoon ended with a typical colorful sunset that allowed us to take some great photos. And above all, it gave us the perfect weather to walk all the way to Puerto Madero ❤️.

Pasear por la Ciudad de Buenos Aires nunca resulta en un mal plan: no importa qué hora del día elijas para hacerlo, siempre encontraras algo interesante para ver. El fin de semana que al fin me decidí por ir a conocer La Boca fue un día aprovechado desde el inicio a fin. Si bien el objetivo principal era conocer Caminito, la tarde terminó con un típico atardecer coloreado que nos permitió hacer unas buenas fotos. Y sobre todo, nos dio el clima increíble como para ir caminando hasta Puerto Madero ❤️.

Although we were very excited about visiting the neighborhood of La Boca, my sisters and I had also heard the comments about it possibly being unsafe at night. That is why we started our outing early, leaving home first thing in the morning and taking advantage of almost all the daylight to enjoy Caminito, the Boca stadium, and the surrounding area. By the time sunset arrived, we had already seen almost everything.

Si bien habíamos ido con buena expectativa sobre conocer el barrio de La Boca, mis hermanas y yo también habíamos escuchado los comentarios sobre el hecho de que puede ser un barrio inseguro de noche. Fue por eso que empezamos nuestro paseo temprano, saliendo de casa a primera hora de la mañana y aprovechando casi toda la luz solar para disfrutar de Caminito, la cancha de Boca y sus alrededores. Para la hora del atardecer, ya habíamos visto casi todo.

But it was still early and the sunset was slowly approaching, so we decided it would be a good idea to walk around a little more. As the sun went down and golden hour got closer, the scenery in La Boca became even more beautiful. The river alongside the main avenue gave us gorgeous reflections, while the sky slowly started turning pink. This time of day is always my favorite for a good photo session.

Pero todavia era temprano y el atardecer llegaba lentamente, por lo que decidimos que sería buena idea poder caminar un poco. A medida que el sol bajaba y la golden hour se acercaba, el paisaje de La Boca se iba volviendo más lindo. El río al costado de la avenida principal nos regalaba unos hermosos reflejos, y el cielo lentamente se iba tiñendo de rosado. Esta hora del día siempre es mi preferida para una buena sesión de fotos.

Just like us, many people decided to walk back toward the city center. Until that spring day, I had no idea that the neighborhood of La Boca was so close to the classic tourist areas of the City of Buenos Aires. I do not know why I had never gone to visit Caminito before, but when I returned from my trip, I came back feeling inspired and determined not to miss it. And the outing was definitely worth it.

Al igual que nosotros, mucha gente decidió volver caminando hasta el centro. Hasta ese día de primavera, yo desconocía que el barrio de La Boca quedaba tan cerca de la clásica zona turística de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. No sé por qué nunca antes había ido a visitar Caminito, pero cuando volví de mi viaje llegué inspirada y decidida a no perdérmelo. Y el paseo valió la pena.

Chatting and chatting, my sisters and I eventually made our way to Puerto Madero, probably one of the most elegant areas in the city. Since the sunset was perfect for continuing to take photos, I wanted to go somewhere that also had water so we could fully take advantage of the reflections. I love this area because there is always a lot going on, and it is also full of tourists. Of course, the high prices make that very obvious, but even so, if you search carefully enough, you can still find places with affordable prices.

Charlando y charlando, mis hermanas y yo llegamos hasta Puerto Madero, probablemente una de las zonas más elegantes de la ciudad. Como el atardecer se prestaba para seguir sacando fotos, quería ir a algún lugar que también tuviera agua como para terminar de aprovechar los reflejos. Esta zona me encanta porque siempre hay mucho movimiento y también está lleno de turistas. Claro que los elevados precios ponen esto en evidencia, pero de todas formas, buscando y buscando, todavía se pueden encontrar lugares con precios accesibles.

Once you leave Puerto Madero behind, you enter fully into the most classic and touristy part of the city. Around this area, it is possible to find the Government House, Plaza de Mayo, the old Central Post Office, and if you go a little farther, you will reach the Obelisk and the iconic 9 de Julio Avenue. Even though I live 30 kilometers away from the city center, I love going into Buenos Aires to walk around because it feels completely different from my neighborhood.

Saliendo un poco de Puerto Madero, ya entras de lleno en la parte más clásica y turística de la ciudad. En los alrededores de esta zona, es posible encontrar la Casa de Gobierno, la Plaza de Mayo, el antiguo Correo Central, y si vas un poco más allá, llegas al Obelisco y la típica Avenida 9 de Julio. A pesar de que yo vivo a 30 km del centro de la ciudad, ir a pasear a Capital me encanta, porque es totalmente diferente a mi barrio.

I really loved this day spent as a tourist in the city, and I hope I can soon repeat the experience in other parts of Buenos Aires where there are beautiful things to see. The great thing about the City of Buenos Aires being so large is that there will never be a shortage of good plans. I have a long list of things I want to do there, and I am sure that little by little I will complete it. In some way, it feels like traveling close to home while still being a tourist in your own city ❤️.

Este día como turistas en la ciudad me encantó, y espero que pronto pueda repetirse en otros puntos de la ciudad en donde haya cosas hermosas para ver. Lo bueno de que la Ciudad de Buenos Aires sea tan grande es que nunca va a faltar un buen plan. Tengo una larga lista de cosas que quiero hacer por ahí, y estoy segura que de a poco la voy a ir completando. De alguna forma se siente como viajar cerca de casa, y seguir siendo turista en tu propia ciudad ❤️.
