Hello today i am posting some pictures of some white lilac flowers that grow on a tree in my garden during summer. The scientific name of this plant is Syringa vulgaris, In Norwegian we take after the scientific name and call these flowers Syrin.

It sounds a bit unusual, white lilac flowers, this is the color lilac, but I understand what you mean, it's just an observation.

It is a bit strange that the English name for the flower is a name for a color. It's like calling roses Reds because they are the most popular color even though the flowers come in different color.
The Norwegian name for the flower Syrin is not named after a color.
Love that you call them Syrin from the Latin name, it sounds elegant'. White lilac feels like the start of summer, and there scent is so clean it makes my spreadsheets seem almost romantic :) If I ever plant one, I hope it can grwo as a small tree like yours.
Thank you!
