MONTALBÁN, WEDNESDAY MORNING... (PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES)

Tcats.jpg

Today I woke up, had breakfast, fed my pets, checked my messages on my phone, sent greetings to my son and grandchildren who live outside of Venezuela, and then grabbed my camera and went out the door of our garage. I had no particular destination in mind; I simply wanted to wander around, greet people, listen to their stories, look at dogs, admire the colors of objects, and, of course, take pictures. It's such an uncomplicated way to start the day and return home in a good mood to tackle the day's tasks.

The streets were relatively lively, and a flat, whitish cloud cover hung over the town, providing a uniform light ideal for photography. Everything seemed to conspire for my peaceful walk, filled with my own visions, with what I see, understand, and record... These photos in this post aren't all I took today, but they do summarize quite well what I was like today: "walking the streets with my thoughts reduced, subdued, almost minimalist." And that makes me feel good because it makes me feel aware without being overly involved... I know all this sounds a bit strange, even "selfish," but to photograph the street, you need to "be a witness," to be relatively detached from what's happening in order to observe and record it...

And today my streets seemed to burst into color, and then, once I'd processed them, I imbued them with the drama I'd perceived in them this morning as I wandered around. And they're all horizontal, and they're all street streets, because—as I more or less said before—they're "me observing everything from my perspective"...

This dog looks alert and is keeping a close eye on you. Is he friendly or more of a guard dog?

He's friendly, he just came over to say hello, most people here are like that! 😁
