Drina cruise between Bosnia and Serbia
For my mother's birthday, she gave our whole family, my sisters and mine, a truly special gift: a cruise along the beautiful Drina River, which forms the natural border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We spent several wonderful days on Tara National Park, surrounded by forests, fresh mountain air, and breathtaking viewpoints. Our Drina cruise started at the stunning and calm Perućac Lake.

From the lake, we boarded a charming boat called Grizzly and took our seats on the upper deck, ready to enjoy the scenery.

As we set off, we were immediately captivated by the emerald-green river winding through dramatic cliffs and dense forests.

Trees seemed to grow straight out of the rocks.

And wooden cottages and small riverside camps added a sense of warmth and tranquility.

During the cruise, our guide shared fascinating stories about the places we passed. He even told us to pay close attention, because on the way back there would be a quiz to test what we had learned.

For about three hours, we sailed between Serbia and Bosnia, following the majestic Drina River towards Višegrad, the town closely associated with the Nobel Prize-winning writer Ivo Andrić. Along the way, we passed a very impressive monument: an old ship raised in memory of those who lost their lives during World War II.

My children especially loved exploring the lower deck, where some of our most exciting moments happened as we passed through the narrowest part of the canyon.

After three unforgettable hours, we arrived in Višegrad. And that memorable stop deserves a story of its own in my next post.

Thank you for reading.

It was very relaxing to look at all those shades of green indeed. But here it's not hot yet like in the Philippines, at some points I put on my winter jacket.😊
This area is really haunted.
