Tropical Depression Neneng has exited the country, allowing a drier atmosphere around late afternoon. I took advantage of it and stayed outside for a few hours to finalize the outer wall of the mudroom.
When I went in just before 5 pm, my little boy was nowhere. I kept calling him, but he wasn't coming out to meet me. Normally, he would come running the moment I enter. "Weird," I thought, and walked to the table to drink, and there he was, resting comfortably under the chair with his blanket too😅
It was the first time he has done that, so it made me burst into laughter. While he often curls up anywhere, even on top of our dining table, he never dragged his blanket with him. "Yong, what made you do this today?" I asked as if he would talk and give me an answer. Oh well, he ignored me. Maybe he was sulking because I left him alone. But he didn't give me a cold shoulder for long.😁
Meanwhile, we received a saddening news that Dad's uncle breathed his last this morning. Bile duct cancer, they said. He has been on palliative care for about a month. A decade ago, we rarely hear cancer as the reason for a relative's death, but in the last 5 years, it has become a common cause.
"Our lifestyle (particularly our eating habits) is the major contributing factor," a cousin shared her thoughts. "Almost everything today has chemicals in them, even the things (food) we consume," she lamented.
She has a point there. Even the very air we breathe contains pollutants. Genetics, environmental factors, lifestyle choices. Some controllable, others not. I hope and pray that with the advancing technology, a cure will be discovered sooner🙏

In case of death, I think it's something we need to accept without any complaint.

He's like a kid growing up☺️ And yes, death is a natural cycle of life, but sometimes can be hard to accept.
