Hive Creator Days in Graz ♥️

avatar
(Edited)

I can go on existing in a place I don't understand for much too long. Whenever I talk to someone else from Hive, I get the impression they understand much more than I ever will about the blockchain and everything pertaining to it. (And most likely, they do)

I think the trouble is I'm not very existentialist by nature. Asking why or how I am enjoying myself seems beside the point as long as I am. Enjoying myself.
And boy, am I. When I booked the ticket for the Hive Creator Days in Graz, it was the last day after Hivefest and May and Austria seemed very very far away. For a long time, it was not something concrete, which isn't normal for me. I usually like to know where and if I'm going. But the Universe conspired so I could come to Graz, and I'm so grateful it did.

(I hate name-droppy posts. But I also get the impression people like it when tagged, so.)

Much as I love discovering new places on my own, I would gladly let @tibfox and @reiseamateur handle the remainder of my trips on this earth. I don't think any of us realized what a delight we were in for when we signed up to come here, but they took care of everything (including us) and made this entire experience fantastic.

Then, of course, there's the talks. I tend to drift off when things get overly techy, yet time and again, listening to the presentations on the second day, not only did I not drift off, but I kept thinking how damn lucky I am to be a part of this. To think of all the people out there who do not know this exists. Or more, of all the evil, nasty shit going on in our world today and conspiring to bring us down on a constant basis. You need good things to keep you alive and listening to all these amazing people talk, I thought...well, the world's looking pretty neat right now. I figure as long as there's good people trying to bring about improvement, little wins for their fellow man, as it were, it's not all lost.

It sounds corny as hell. I told you I get like that sometimes, but here we are.

There was stuff I'd been hoping to understand more of.

I'd been watching on chain about @apis.hive, but never found a minute to delve in properly. I'm sure there's still much I don't get, but after @livinguktaiwan's fantastic presentation, hopefully a little less. I felt behind it this wonderful sort of reverie I feel toward Hive. This sense I was talking about that we have this genuinely good thing here worth growing and showing others. Pretty damn brilliant.

Then you had a project I do know a little about and love to bits. @ninaeatshere and @masterswatch took us through the latest news for @worldmappin and also where the project is headed. I realize when I'm chattering away about some foreign place, it's tempting to take these things for granted, but I'm astounded once again at all the work that goes into this beautiful riddle of a worldwide adventure game.

Don't worry, I'm not gonna do this for every presentation. I can go on a bit.

It's always a pleasure hearing @seckorama talk about @ecency because rather than coming at it from the tech perspective, he speaks from the creator's view, which I relate to greatly. And realize there's a lot more for me to learn about all the things these apps have to offer.

I've yet to meet someone with @minigunner's kind of energy. Seeing him come on again after first talking about @threespeak was kinda like getting an encore at a good music show. And then him doing this snazzy little demonstration of how HBD cards will work for the @distriator presentation was just...mind-blowing.

The wise wizard @gtg masterminded a pretty epic reveal that I think sent everyone reeling for a bit with questions like can I? Should I? I guess that remains to be seen.

And thus the photographer became the photographee.

I unfortunately didn't get a pic of the @cleanplanet talk by @tibfox, but I was listening from the hallway and had great fun on the subsequent Clean Planet walk up the mountain.

Besides, we got to go back down on a badass slide, so you won't hear me complain.

All in all, it's been a brilliant few days filled with such joy and gratitude. I kept thinking I could've turned left instead of right some point during these past (almost) 8 years and not get to be a part of this. I'm so glad I didn't.

I met and re-encountered so many amazing people who brought beautiful energy and brilliant conversations to these past three days. Thank you,
@llunasoul, @growandbow, @ninaeatshere, @bil.prag, @godfish, @masterswatch, @gtg, @tibfox, @alessandrawhite, @reiseamateur, @livinguktaiwan @solarwarrior, @elmirabaer, @cryptospa, @ph1102, @stayoutoftherz, @tinabrezpike, @marjanko, @minigunner, @dovycola, @seckorama, @bitterirony, @akipponn, @dobranoc, @quekery, @themyscira, @priyanarc, @mipiano and the lovely Ana. I hope I didn't miss or miswrote anyone.

This was fucking fantastic. ♥️

Awesome to see you had a good time during BuzzParty and a pleasure to have met you. I really hope that your trip to Guatemala will become a reality and I am sure that we will meet again some day. Even though we did not talk face to face, it is so much better reading your posts and commenting after seeing you un real. Therefore these meetups are so important for our community.

Thanks for being there milksweet and razor-sharp :) next time we meet an AI waiter, we’ll break it for sure!

What a buzz this party was! Maribor looks like a dead town now, with not a single Hivean at sight.

You and your clever word-play. We must. Then again, we could just travel to a place that hasn't implemented them yet. Like one of those bizarre (imaginary) villages in Banat. ;)

Oh, they do exist! You’ll see if you ever dare to visit one.

I will do so once they open a brewery there.

Better send a smoke signal or carrier pigeon, then. With any luck, they may get the message and have one up and running during your lifetime;)

so you were hating on Banat behind my back...

and they say Romanians are our only true friends that never backstabbed us...

Noo! I was protecting it from invaders :P but only the Romanian part. How could I ever be a backstabber? I thought you knew me better than that!

Greetings @honeydue

It`s incredible how big Hive is, everyday we grow in communities about Technology, Cryptocurrencies, Economic, Fashion, Music, Art, Photography...

I agree with something you wrote:

but I kept thinking how damn lucky I am to be a part of this. To think of all the people out there who do not know this exists. This was a damn corny post but I 10K% enjoyed reading it and had a huge smile on my face (just like when I arrived at the end of the slide) from the first to last word! I think I can speak for the rest: We all are very happy that you did never turned the wrong way in the past 8 years and you are still an active writer here. I have to shamefully admit that I never heard of you before but I have a feeling that you're one of my favourite writers on here after reading through a few of your posts. Hope to meet you again very very soon ❤️

Now I fought your corny post with a much more corny comment ⚔️ haha

@ynwa.andree -just realized I forgot to tag you. Apologies! Unforgivable. Anyway, I didn't wanna ping everyone (again) so thought I'd tag you in this way instead - so lovely to have met you and been on the same team as you! Hope you got home okay and see you again soon, yeah? 🤗

That's not a problem for me. A nice contribution. I hope I'll get around to writing a post today that reflects the impressions of the meet-up as it felt. Simply great.
I arrived home safely and also got @themysira, @Quekery, @solarwarrior and @doggie on the right track.

Sad boy Charlie Brown. Maybe it's one of those online things you have to send to seven friends to be rid of?

weird how brain and procrastination works. reading this reminded me about a funny "i didn't send it to seven friends and now..." mail and went looking for it.

Ended up reading emails from few friends from ages ago for over an hour.

The text was probably not even that funny :D

Maybe it wasn't, but maybe you didn't need funny at the moment anyway, rather the good feeling reading old friends' emails brought :)

Aw love <3 I'd write shorter posts if I knew anyone had to read them out loud :)) Thanks. I never seem to bring home selfies from these things. Maybe by the time Hivefest #20 rolls around, I will have worked up the courage to do that! Hope you got home safe and not too exhausted! <3
