Vlog 250: Getting STEEM as a payout next to SBD and SP + Small green market today.
A little bit of a green day today.
STEEM has gone up 25% percent from it's low of $1.50.
My investment plan is still unchanged.
What people have noticed is that the payouts have changed on the steem blockchain.
You now get a little bit of STEEM with your payout as well.
I believe it has to do with the massive amounts of SBD's that have been printed lately.
This is my personal simplified explanation.
An SBD is always worth $1 dollar worth of STEEM through a convert function build in the blockchain. (it's removed from the website currently but it's possible).
So that means that with the use of this function 1 SBD at a STEEM price of $4 convert to 0.25 STEEM.
or
1 SBD at a STEEM price of $1 converts to 1 STEEM.
or
1 SBD at a STEEM price of $0.25 converts to 4 STEEM.
Now it's easy to see that when the STEEM price goes lower more STEEM is needed to back up the debt (SBD).
That's the reason why you now get a little liquid STEEM and a little less SBD for your post today and I expect this to increase if STEEM goes lower in price.
SBD print rate is now 97,66% instead of 100%.

I’m looking at this as I do Silver, I haven’t had the chance to buy more steem, but have plans to get some more Silver hopefully Litecoin before things go back up, it just seems to be a buy time
Crypto will take off, and sbd will more than double. We are in a slump with crypto, it’s the best time to buy, I think.

For me, getting more steem from post payouts is a good thing but this bound to change when the prices start going higher.
I have personally decided to take your posts on btc and altcoins predictions a little more seriously, seeing how the price of btc and altcoins have steadily dropped this month.

Uhhm, really? If I go to "Market" I get 0.9 SBD for 1 Steem. It doesn't sTeem to matter, we Steem Tethered to BTC no matter what. Greetings!

Steem has done good recovery today but still more work need to be done.... Hoping that the launch of SMT's may restart the bull run for STEEM.

No well thank you for providing with the information. It is a good thing that steem gas moved up about 15%, I pray for more of the increase.
So SBDs now will be a little less than usual, well at least this descent is not permanent.
Was a bit surprised as well but I'm hoping for the better.

So informative but I would think they’d print more SBD over Steem since it’s currently worth more? More supply would also drive the price down and closer to the $1 intended value? Maybe I’m not getting it...

From what I understand this change is acting as a parachute to steady the fall? And I presume the SBD print rate my fall as a % if we see further falls in STEEM.
Really cool to see the mechanism in action even if the current prices don't look so great compared to recently.

I never tought I was going to see steem this cheap again, I'm taking this as an opportunity to power up.
Not gonna lie, I am pretty pissed that I bought Steem when it was $6-7. That definitely hurts to think about right now when I could've gotten so much more. I can only focus on myself and grow as a person.

Yeah, finally today we saw something green otherwise everything was red.
Bitcoin is also up from $7k and steem is touching $2.
Don't know what is happening with steem and SBD in payouts. I have always tried to understand this mechanism but always end up confused lol
Steem has done great recuperation yet at the same time more work should be done and I read about that steem would ascend right away. also, I figure we should chip away at it to advance steem.
Everyday more and more sbd have printed out but I am wondering why the sbd price compare to steem is high.
Thanks for the explanation about the Steem we started to get as rewards lately. I have one question though. I know Steem has a certain inflation, which is supposed to drop continuously until it reaches zero. The new Steem rewards mean more Steem is produced, so, at least for a while inflation increases, right?
I think it's compensated because a little less SBD is printed.
lot of sbd has been printed and this will eventually make prices go even viral as many don't know what are not on steemit and trade it the prices will again go high

Great to see the green market back again and also more great to see little steem in there its just balancing the rewards as system of steemit think the price of sbd is $ 2 still but in real its low so to sum up things i think liquid steem is being rewarded

SBD price is closer to $1 than ever, do you expect some move in the next weeks to make SBD $1 forever? (right now it´s a good time considering that it was $10 :D )
I already got my first rewards in STEEM, I was looking at that and I wondered, what did I do wrong to receive different rewards for that post!! Poor ignorant.
