Esteem referrals
We have been getting a lot of questions about how referral system works and what are the details after our latest release.
In this post, we will present motivations, plans and works of the system.
How it works
Our initial implementation is quite simple.
Signup form has
referred userfield where any new user can write who invited them during their registration.After new user start using Esteem and earns over 250 ESTM, user who invited them will claim 100 ESTM.
There is no limit on how many users you can invite or how much ESTM you can earn from referrals.
Note that, Referral rewards are minted from mining allocation!
Your referral code is your username. When inviting friend ask them to register with your username in referral field or give direct link, this is referral link for esteemapp account: https://esteem.app/signup?referral=esteemapp
Road ahead
We will be reiterating and gathering feedback from community and improve program as we progress. We will re-evaluate some parts once we have some information and see how system is working in action.
We want to increase engagement, retention as well as onboard people easily. There are multiple stages to fully achieve our vision.
Mobile onboarding has very crucial role to grow Esteem from where we are, to much higher user retention and engagement. We are working on customized signup experience with simple to digest educational screens. Over the coming months we will release full-fledged signup and invite screens within app.

that's a good explanation @esteemapp. By the way just to share about my experience in using esteem. I love the new update because it became peaceful and clear to see.

is this only for new accounts, or does this include existing steem users?
All existing users can invite anyone and their username will be their referral code. New users who register/join with your referral code/name give you chance to earn 100 ESTM each, once they earn 250 ESTM

I can invite existing and new steem users, and once they reach 250 ESTM we both get a bonus? Are there click/signup stats somewhere? :)
Existing users don't need to be invited. It is about new users signing up for now, inviting existing users is next iteration, it is tricky to track for existing users without adding extra field on login...
ps. referrer gets a bonus.
No you can invite new users to esteem...whether the person is a new or existing steem member, as long as he/she doesn't have an esteem account

Congrat. It's quite an easy onboarding system for new users. What all of us need in the Steem. Does it mean the new users will also get keys and all Steem features later on?
Yes, they get keys right away.

Thanks for this post. I was already wo after i referred a user and didnt get an instant ESTM tokens.
As you can see, newly joined user should be active and earn their first 250 ESTM before referrer gets bonus, keep inviting people and you know in time bonus will keep compounding 😉
What is the difference between post promotion and boosting on esteemapp?
Boosting gives you votes, promoting gives you visibility.
