Recordando de dónde venimos
¡Hola, amigos de Hive!
Casi 25 días desde mi último post. Han pasado muchas cosas en lo personal y lo profesional, pero hoy no quiero hablar de eso. Hoy quiero hablar de algo más grande, porque creo que es momento de mirar hacia atrás y recordar por qué seguimos aquí.
Como siempre, quisiera iniciar con una canción. Conozco "Ready" de Kodaline desde hace unos 10 años, fue una de las primeras que escuché de la banda. Su música ha tenido un gran impacto en mi vida, y aunque hoy no me extenderé sobre eso, sí quiero detenerme en el video.
El video lo protagoniza el actor que se hizo famoso por interpretar a McLovin. Es la historia de un jockey que, tras un accidente, queda en silla de ruedas. Es claramente un evento traumático. Pero al final del video, logra subirse de nuevo al caballo. Esa imagen, simbólica como es, la relaciono con mi viaje aquí en Hive.
Seis años después
Hace algunas semanas empecé a platicarle sobre Hive a una amiga. Y al hacerlo, me di cuenta de algo: tuve que regresar a las raíces para poder explicarle por qué este lugar importa. Volví a leer uno de los artículos de Decrypt sobre la historia de cómo nació Hive, y me hizo reflexionar.

Llegué a Steem en enero de 2018. Pasé de creador de contenido a community manager, después a self-taught, a asistente y Project Manager con muchos sombreros, y, eventualmente, a cofundador de Mantequilla-Soft. En el camino, fundé Aliento, colaboré en proyectos grandes como 3Speak, denuncié abusos y ayudé a organizar eventos importantes para Hive, tanto virtuales como presenciales.
Han pasado tantas cosas en estos años. Cosas buenas, cosas malas. Sé que muchos han llegado y muchos se han ido. Sé que muchos de nosotros ya no tenemos la misma energía, la misma fe, ni la misma motivación que teníamos al inicio. Y está bien reconocerlo.
Pero recordar de dónde venimos también significa recordar que lo que se construyó, se construyó por algo, y por alguien.
Lo que Aliento ha hecho, en datos
Hace unos días leí un análisis publicado por @demotruk sobre la retención de cuentas nuevas en Hive. Lo que encontró merece su propio post (y de hecho, eso es lo que voy a hacer la próxima semana en desde @Aliento), pero les adelanto lo principal:
Aliento es la comunidad de bienvenida con mayor retención en Hive. Y es la única cuya tasa de retención no se cayó entre 2022 y 2023, mientras otros proyectos de bienvenida vieron caídas de hasta 13 puntos porcentuales.
No lo digo yo. Lo dice una investigación independiente, basada en datos on-chain, mirando cohortes de cuentas nuevas durante dos años completos.
Esto importa porque, cuando uno atraviesa momentos de poca motivación, es fácil olvidar que el trabajo que hacemos sí deja huella. Aliento la deja. Y los datos de @demotruk lo confirman. Pueden leer el post aquí.
Esta o la próxima semana vamos a publicar un análisis detallado en Aliento, con los números completos, los matices honestos, y lo que esto significa para la comunidad hispana de Hive. Si les interesa el tema, estén pendientes.
Recordar para construir
No se trata de hacer un double down ni de arriesgarse aún más. No se trata de pretender que todo está bien cuando no lo está. Se trata de algo más simple: recordar por qué estamos aquí, y dejar que ese recuerdo informe lo que hacemos a partir de hoy.
El jockey del video de Kodaline no se subió al caballo porque todo se hubiera resuelto. Se subió porque entendió que volver a empezar era posible.
Hive ya pasó por su propio momento de "subirse al caballo otra vez". Lo hicimos en 2020. Lo hemos hecho cada vez que algo se cayó y tocó levantarlo. Y lo seguiremos haciendo, porque eso es lo que distingue a quienes se quedan: la capacidad de recordar de dónde vienen para saber hacia dónde van.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years

They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
