Charity or Scam? - Sizeable Rewards Pending

The @sdr-7 Charity...or Removable Rewards?

I dislike nearly everything about this account, so I hope I'm wrong here.

That said, this account has created about 100 posts that are all an exact copy and basically say:

We are campaigning for funds to create a clean green planet...

Then, on these posts, they have created another 100 or so comments that say, "Charity Upvote" sometimes with a number. On these two two kinds of posts, they have a continuous stream of upvotes, that add up to non-negligible rewards.

Now the largest upvotes come from @manfoundstanding and @earthnation and @sdr-7 itself has a 1,000 SP delegation from @earthnation, which it also uses to self-upvote. It appears this has been going for awhile with a fair amount of rewards already claimed.

Since this has very clear backing and supporters, I wanna give this account the benefit of the doubt. However, if this were a true charitable organization, there would be posts talking about their work and how they are using these funds so from my perspective today this appears to be a total scam.

I'm not sure what to think about this, I can only hope that one of these accounts I've tagged sees this posts and responds.

Here's a precise detailing of all pending rewards.

Seems to be capitalising on the legit looking earthnation account / tag + associated bot - also charged up on donated SP. Viewing on a tablet so a bit hard to go through the transaction history. SDR7 is the most untransparent "charity" I've seen on the platform - not that I've actively been looking 🙂 - so your analysis is most likely correct. https://earthnation.world - make of that what you will - you'll find a familiar username in the core members section - manfound..... has a rep of 9 but delegated 17k SP if I'm reading it correctly.

Good stuff, thanks for digging in a little deeper! I'm all but certain this isn't legit, the more evidence I find only supports my theory more and more.

And I was plainly humbled to see your delegation come through recently, thank you so very much!!! I'll be putting together a post about this sometime this month so I'll definitely touch base with you then.

Still trying to decipher what mfs and enation are about - they could well be on the level. Will require trawling through a stack of posts and comments.

That was my take on it too, I couldn't get a clear read at a quick glance which is why I brought this to the attention of the community so we can all take a look.

It would probably be most helpful if one of the 2 accounts could clarify - seems to have something to do with "steembasicincome" which in itself sounds fine - of course it's yet another utility of the platform that could be scammed. But it's mixed up with a lot of other stuff about DAOs, the bot and SP donation. Looks like the low rep on the user occurred because of a bot malfunction a few months back.

Low Rep of Manfoundstanding was due to ats-david getting into a flagging war with our EN-bot because ats-david also assumed that we are a scam. Manfoundstanding came to our defense, and was flagged nearly into oblivious for it.

We appreciate that you have chosen to do your research, instead of blatantly attacking us with judgements and downvotes.

Hello @duplibot. Thank you for your service to the Steem Community. This level of supervision is very healthy for Steem's Longevity.

We've been using proceeds from these posts for a handful of humanitarian projects.

In the Steem Ecosphere, We are helping fund the @SteemBasicIncome program, and are paying for development of the SteemBasicIncome automation.

We funded the development of the @Earthnation-bot and are regularly upvoting the bots posts to give it more power.

We created a steemit guild to help authors make an income on steemit. Recently we have had to freeze the program because rates are.... not worth the artists time currently. https://www.earth-nation-steemit-guild.com/

To date we have invested more then $8000 USD into the development of steemit bots designed to better the community. We do not make any income from our investment into these bots.

We have funded a series of 12 open, sustainable, co-governed, rent-free communities in ecuador. The network is called Terra Frutis https://terrafrutis.com/.

We are currently developing a series of sustainable villages in missouri. One village is for people that were previously homeless, another village is for veterans. https://www.earth-nation-ecovillage-network.com/

We've got a lot more going on then just that.

Our organization basically mixes philanthropy with standard investment. Some of the profits from the Sdr-7 posts are going to pay back investors who helped fund earlier projects.

We appreciate your careful consideration. Thank you for taking time to reach out to us.

In general, we have received far more flags then upvotes from the Steem Community. If we felt supported by Steem instead of constantly attacked by aggressive whales and agro-trolls, we would post ALOT more about what we are doing.

Please consult our primary website for more information detailing the depths of our humanitarian efforts. https://earthnation.world/

This website details an up and coming cryptocurrency we are making, designed to fund regenerative, positive change businesses. Its not done yet, so please refrain from sharing it around. http://earthcycle.kurzik.com/

The Earthnation-bot is a minnow only upvote bot that gives a 4X upvote once every 10 days per user. All currency sent to the Earthnation-bot and all post rewards are reinvested into the bot, so this service can continuously serve more minnows.

This service is designed to make Steemit more rewarding for minnows, while also stimulating the Steem Economy.

The steembasicincome project is another initiative designed to help steemians of all kinds by giving a lifelong upvote subscription program. Similar to the EN-bot, all profits from the steembasicincome are given back to the people of steemit. We didn't originate this project, but we are supporting it with our resources.

The guild is another system that helps steemit authors earn higher rewards and more reach.

All of these systems benefit steem, though the guild is temporarily frozen until payout rates for authors get better.

Like mentioned previously, profits from Sdr-7 help enable us to further implement the above projects, and other world-changing projects.

The Sdr-7 does not inherently add value to steem, by itself. In general, the Earthnation does.

Take that as you will. If you'd like to use your money to take our money away, so we have less money to change the world in a positive way.... well.... that's your choice.

How does Earthnation contribute to steem?

It's easy to create multiple accounts, that's why there is no such thing as minnows and basic income cannot work on Steem.

This level of supervision is very healthy for Steem's Longevity.

I appreciate you saying that and hope you truly believe this. The Steem blockchain is not only decentralized but completely open. Those two words--completely open--are the antithesis of your behaviors.

You are hiding your upvotes in a massive thread of worthless comments so nothing about this is open and there is a perceivable sense of 'hiding' that cannot be ignored. And you justify it by outlining your charitable use of these funds.

In general, we have received far more flags then upvotes from the Steem Community.

All votes--up and down--are feedback from the community. And it sounds like you're ignoring that feedback and again hiding behind excuses, saying you don't post more because you were not warmly received here.

Let's talk about the work that you're doing.

We are helping fund the @SteemBasicIncome program, and are paying for development of the SteemBasicIncome automation.

Please point me to transactions in the blockchain that support this? I have not found any posts by @steembasicincome talking about your work with them, or really anything in the blockchain to support what you're saying.

You also provide several multi-word-hyphenated-super-long-domains-that-are-usually-assocatied-with-spam. Dot com. Every single one of these sites has almost no content whatsoever and you could have easily thrown these up in about 30 minutes to support the story you're telling here. If these were legitimate sites, there would be continual updates showing details of your ongoing work. This site has one single video from this Youtube account which is named "Income solutions." Browse through those videos and you'll say everything about this account feels like the scammy underbelly of the internet.

That said, any charitable organization doing work on the level you're describing would get picked up by a local news source in the areas of your work. Can you point me to any public news source talking about your work? And a obviously a legitimate news source, not some local-news-from-this-location.com domain registered 3 days ago.

And finally you are launching your own cryptocurrency?! I'm not sure if you've been paying attention, but SMTs are one of the 'big things' in store for Steem. But sure, rather than launch your own SMT, instead why don't you pull from the rewards pool to go fund your launch of a new cryptocurrency, I'm sure the community here will support that.

I'll say it simply: we need more proof. And I do mean proof, let's pretend this is a court of competent jurisdiction because I will apply the same level of scrutiny as the rules of evidence for anything you may offer.

And beyond all this, let's get to the question posed by @newsflash and @transisto, how do you contribute to Steem? I'm not seeing that at all.

This is all to say I still perceive your work as a scam, but hope you are legitimate and willing to take up the challenge of detailing your work in a verifiable way to gain the trust and support of the community here.

Short of that, you may want to reconsider your efforts to join a community that continues to reject you.
