28 Years Later: The Bone Temple immediately follows after "28 Years Later". It's the continuation of the long running zombie movie series that started with 28 Days Later. Picking up directly after the previous movie, the film is about Spike who joined a sadistic cult led by the Jimmy Crystal (the kid at the start of the last installment). Meanwhile scientist Dr. Ian Kelson searches for a possible cure through zombie alpha named Samson.

The story follows Spike’s survival in the cult he joined at the end of "28 Years Later". There's another story about Dr. Kelson’s experiments at his hideout, the Bone Temple. The cult arc explores power and manipulation, as Jimmy Crystal exerts control through fear and ritual. Meanwhile, Kelson’s arc focuses on the possibility that the infected may still be cured. These two storylines combine in an exciting climax.

The movie is brutally violent but strangely, the violence comes more from the humans and not the zombies. The movie leans heavily into the idea that humans can be just as monstrous as the infected, especially through the cult’s violence.

Meanwhile, the film balances its grim tone with unexpected humor and emotional depth. Ralph Fiennes’ portrayal of Kelson is praised for bringing warmth and humanity. His scenes with Samson bring hope and even moments of joy into an otherwise bleak world.
