Guest Curator Application – @caparadiso (Italian farmer, 40 years in IT)
Hive username: @caparadiso
1. Why do you want to become a guest curator on Ecency?
I'm Matteo, an Italian farmer: I run Ca' Paradiso, a small agriturismo in the hills of Cagli (Marche), and I blog about farm life, nature and our animals on Hive. Before becoming a farmer I spent 40 years working in IT, so I know both sides: the technology and the human effort behind a good post. I read Hive every day and I often find genuine, hard-working authors — especially newcomers — whose posts go unnoticed. Curating with Ecency would let me help them get the recognition they deserve and stay on the chain. I'm also building my own curation account, @caparadiso.com, so the trial would be a great school to learn how a professional curation team works.
2. What kind of content do you look for and want to support?
Original, personal content made with real effort: life stories, travel, nature, food and recipes, farming and gardening, photography, sport and fitness, music and creative work. I value authors who write in their own voice (in any language — I read Italian, English and some Spanish), who use their own photos, and who reply to comments and engage with the community. I pay special attention to newcomers: I'm actively inviting YouTubers to publish on 3Speak and Hive, and I know how much a first meaningful vote matters.
3. How do you recognize spam, plagiarism or abuse?
I check the account history and reputation, look for copy-pasted or AI-generated text without personal input, run reverse image searches on suspicious photos, and watch for patterns like repetitive low-effort posts, tag abuse, self-voting circles and accounts farming rewards. When in doubt, I don't vote and I report it to the team. A good vote should reward the author, not the system.
Thank you for considering my application!
