Dear Hive family, 👋

Many of you know me as @amico, and some of you also met me through @amico.sports and my Actifit reports. Life has changed a lot: today I live and work in the hills of the Marche, where I run Ca' Paradiso, a farmhouse agriturismo in Cagli, among hens, a curly Lagotto called Choko Shock, a vegetable garden and a lot of sky. 🌄

This new life deserves a new home on Hive, so from now on you'll find me here, as @caparadiso. 🏡

But before turning the page, I wanted to look back and say thank you to the people who talked with me over the years. I went back through the replies on my old accounts, and here is a little journey through our conversations. ❤️

@ph1102 🌍 – My fellow Hive traveller! We've met in person several times in different places, and we talked about the Hive Meetup in Novi Sad (Serbia) and the Road to Hive Fest 2024 in Rome. You also followed my road trip through southern Spain and Portugal ("we are following your steps!"). You asked where the next meetup will be... how about Ca' Paradiso? 😉

@mipiano 🎹 – Dear friend, always there with a kind word. We talked about the tunnels between Ovada and Nice, about postcards in the age of the internet and about how long it takes to prepare a new business. And under my post "Have I Truly Fallen in Love?" you asked the right question: did you really fall in love with that place? Well... the new chapter has begun! 💛

@dexpartacus 🤗 – Always full of energy: "Eccomi, miticooooo!" You cheered for my colpo di fulmine (love at first sight), and on @amico.sports we caught up about Malta and life in general. Un abbraccione, amico mio!

@armandosodano 🏛️ – From Terracina, with a big heart: you offered to be our Cicerone when we visited Rome after my Night glimpses of Rome, and we exchanged greetings under my Venice photo tour and my watercolour "In a good mood". Grazie per le tante telefonate e gli abbracci!

@steemmillionaire 🏡 – You wrote "loves come and go, but tell us about this new property". Promise kept: this account is exactly that story! 😄

@joelai – "Can't wait for the next update!" Here it is, finally! 🙌

@mes 📐 – We exchanged Christmas wishes under my math post on polar coordinates and the cardioid. A heart-shaped curve... it was a sign! ❤️

🌟 Special mention: @samstonehill ⚡🥕

A very special mention goes to @samstonehill. His posts about growing a vegetable garden with electroculture techniques (antennas, copper coils and a lot of curiosity) are some of the most fascinating things I've read on Hive. 🌱

Now that I have my own garden and a brand-new greenhouse at Ca' Paradiso, his experiments are a real source of inspiration: who knows, maybe a little copper antenna will soon appear among our cabbages too! 😄 Sam, I'll be following your results closely, and I'd love to compare notes, garden to garden. 🤝

Another heartfelt mention goes to @dustbunny, a real friend of the smallest "fish" on Hive: the minnows and new users. 🐟

Why is it so important? On Hive, when a post or comment only collects a few tiny votes, its value can stay below the minimum payout threshold: that's what people call "dust". Those small votes, often given with love by other little accounts, simply get lost and turn into nothing. 😢

@dustbunny looks for exactly these posts and adds its vote to lift them above the threshold, so the support of the community is not wasted and the author actually receives the reward. It's free "dust protection" for those who are just starting out, with a watchlist of thousands of accounts, and it also keeps an eye out for spam so that the help goes to real content. 🛡️

For a beginner, seeing that first small reward arrive instead of vanishing can make the difference between giving up and continuing to write. Thank you, @dustbunny, for fluffing up the dust and giving value to the little ones! 💛

🌱 What's next

On @caparadiso I'll share my daily life at the farm: building projects (a compost toilet with a solar shower!), the hens and their Divine Eggs 🥚, the garden, timelapses of the hills, guests from all over the world, contests and, of course, the adventures of @choko.shock. 🐶

🇮🇹 Un nuovo capitolo: da @amico a @caparadiso 💛🏡

Cara famiglia di Hive, 👋

Molti di voi mi conoscono come @amico, e alcuni anche come @amico.sports con i miei report Actifit. La vita è cambiata molto: oggi vivo e lavoro sulle colline marchigiane, dove gestisco Ca' Paradiso, un agriturismo a Cagli, tra galline, un Lagotto tutto riccioli di nome Choko Shock, un orto e tantissimo cielo. 🌄

Questa nuova vita merita una nuova casa su Hive, quindi da oggi mi trovate qui, come @caparadiso. 🏡

Ma prima di voltare pagina volevo guardarmi indietro e dire grazie alle persone che negli anni hanno parlato con me. Sono tornato a rileggere le risposte sui miei vecchi account, ed ecco un piccolo viaggio tra le nostre conversazioni. ❤️

Una menzione davvero speciale va a @samstonehill. I suoi post sulla coltivazione dell'orto con le tecniche di elettrocoltura (antenne, spirali di rame e tanta curiosità) sono tra le cose più affascinanti che ho letto su Hive. 🌱

Ora che anch'io ho un orto e una serra nuova di zecca a Ca' Paradiso, i suoi esperimenti sono una vera fonte di ispirazione: chissà, magari presto spunterà una piccola antenna di rame anche tra i nostri cavoli! 😄 Sam, seguirò da vicino i tuoi risultati, e mi piacerebbe confrontarci, da orto a orto. 🤝

Un'altra menzione speciale, di cuore, va a @dustbunny, un vero amico dei "pesciolini" più piccoli di Hive: i minnow e i nuovi utenti. 🐟

Perché è così importante? Su Hive, quando un post o un commento raccoglie solo pochi voti piccolissimi, il suo valore può restare sotto la soglia minima di pagamento: è quella che viene chiamata "polvere" (dust). Quei piccoli voti, spesso dati con affetto da altri account piccoli, semplicemente si perdono e non diventano nulla. 😢

@dustbunny va a cercare proprio questi post e aggiunge il suo voto per portarli sopra la soglia, così il sostegno della community non va sprecato e l'autore riceve davvero la ricompensa. È una "protezione dalla polvere" gratuita per chi sta iniziando, con una lista di migliaia di account seguiti, e tiene d'occhio anche lo spam, perché l'aiuto vada ai contenuti veri. 🛡️

🌱 Cosa succederà adesso

Su @caparadiso racconterò la mia vita quotidiana in campagna: i cantieri (una compost toilet con doccia solare!), le galline e le loro Uova Divine 🥚, l'orto, i timelapse delle colline, gli ospiti da tutto il mondo, i concorsi e, naturalmente, le avventure di @choko.shock. 🐶
