Day 77: 5 Minute Freewrite - Prompt: If you have any thoughts, please let me know - My Entry
“I couldn’t have said it any better myself” I replied flatly. My supervisor gave me a curious look before replying “Well, if you have any thoughts, please let me know.” I hung up the skype call before he had a chance to say anything else.
Not surprisingly I got an email from him a few minutes later asking if there was anything I wanted to say about the project. He seemed pretty interested in my opinion all of a sudden. Why is it that he suddenly gives a hoot about my take?
Ever since I took the job he’s been using my ideas to get himself ahead and now he’s about to get called out on it. My friend Tina passes by and tells me that the Regional Director is in the office today and has my boss over the coals explaining the budget. “You know, the budget for the special project you proposed?” she asked rhetorically.
I just smiled and had another sip of the cold break room coffee and wondered how my boss was going to explain himself out of this one.
