Today i am gonna do a short review of the latest 3 Chaos Legion Airdropped cards - Grum Flameblade and His Waifus Iza & Lira, basically my thoughts on these cards and where i see the value of these now and going forward.

What does waifu mean?

Waifu is a term for a fictional character, usually in anime or related media, that someone has great, and sometimes romantic, affection for.

Firstly...the Harem Lord, Grum Flameblade !!

So Grum, he is currently the most hyped out of the trio because of his special ability - Bloodlust. Bloodlust gives increase stats for every kill he makes. Before this, only Gladiator cards have this ability !

Looking at the Stats he has high health, decent armor and quite high damage. As he goes higher levels he gets void and giant killer, further enhancing his survival and damage against bigger targets.

Usability & Potential

Built like a Tank but hardly a tank. Don't be fooled into thinking he is a good tank. Fire just doesn't have the sustain to drag fights due to their lack of heals, although they have pretty good armor repairs. I find him super good in Sneak/Opportunity and Melee Can Attack anywhere ruleset where he can wreak Havoc hiding !!! Another way to use him is pair with a Taunt creature to take the heat off Grum for the first round at least.

Summoner Pairing

My personal choice will is Byz Kitty by a mile. Some would argue Qidd Yuff but Grum has insanely Low speed of 1 that will make him hard to hit anything except in Reverse Speed. Kitty's True Strike eliminates that problem and with Tank Heals he should be able to last a lil longer to take advantage of Bloodlust.

Waifu Vampire Queen

Artwork for this looks Amazing !! Possible core card for a Meta Shift to faster Death Splinter cards. I am surprised with its low price on the market though as this should fit in well with the current faster Death cards. Speed is her game and her high speed allows her an Opportunity attack with Snare effect taking down a flyer.

Usability & Potential

She allows some pretty insane Backfire strategies as there are a few creatures can take advantage of her speed buff -

So in a match where you know Magic damage wont be an issue, this 2 beasts can be used together with Lira to further enhance their Backfire damage potential. Not as popular as Thorns but i can see a good potential here. Also a lot of the new Chaos Legion cards are quite Speedy too...with 3 and above speeds.

Summoner Pairing

Definately Byz Kitty as the +2 Speed Boost bumps up her potential by alot. Imagine 10 Speed Riftwing or 8 speed Pelacor Deceiver....gonna Backfire those things all day long. Also works well with the new Chaos Legion Dragon summoner Quix, now i believe they are going the Speed Route for Death and dont be surprised for the New Legendary Summoner they will probably give it Speed or even Backfire to all ur creatures !! If this happens Lira prices will skyrocket. Get her now at only $6-$8.

Iza, Snake Girl with a nicely place Snake Tatoo

Another waifu with nice artwork. This one comes across as a Ranged Sneak attacker !! We do not have many Ranged Sneak attacker in the game and so far the only other i can remember is from Fire Splinter. 3 HP is pretty low though, although scavenge bumps her survival abit more its still a 1 shot from most Snipe/Sneak/Opportunity attackers. Love the Stun though !!!

Usability & Potential

If she can stay alive, able to stun the opponent backline is very very useful. If its a healer it shuts down heals for 1 turn !! As the rounds go longer in her ability to stay alive increases due to scavenge. Tactical wise having a ranged Sneak attacker is also good as usually people tend to put a thorns unit at the back to Bait those Sneaks, rarely i have seen someone putting Return Fire on the back unit.

Pretty cheap too currently at around $5/6 so should be easily leveled to lvl 3 for the stun.

Summoner Pairing

I would say she works well with any Dragon or Earth Summoner that is high level enough to get the Stun ability.

Final thoughts

In terms of potential and usability i would rank as follows:

1. Lira
2. Grum
3. Iza

Surprise surprise...but i find Lira's buff works well for the a potential Death Speed Meta for reasons listed above.

In my opinion Grum currently only excels in certain rulesets to be a Fire Staple or if u get pretty lucky with that low speed. So pairing it with Byz Kitty is a must, but if u pair with Kitty u run into armor block problem. However he do excel in those special rulesets where he doesn't need to be in front.

Iza...well she 4 cost is a very valuable space, in this space i will choose Dr Blight anytime over Iza...but she does have some utility for her stuns, if she can stay alive.

But i will buy them all just for the Waifu and Grum being a beast that he is.
