Day 10: Tulips

I am back! I haven't been gone for too long this time and I think.... I can only ever be activeon weekends now but hey! I would count this as still trying,still kicking and still practicing! So to me, that's always something
So yes, I am still stuck on my april prompts and I haven't been making that much progress on it because I got sick and heck it's already June XD When would I be ableto catch up? probably when I decide to boycott a month just tfor me to catch up and I thinking July because Ilike Drawgust, Sketchtember and Drawcember. For Novmber... I'll think about it XD my point of doing this to myself is to force myself to practice b pressuring myself and so fr that's bn keeping me going and it's forcing me to learn techniques at least so I think this isn't all bad.
Going back, my prompt today is Tulip

Duration: 1.5 hours
Materials: Watercolors, Pencil colors, White acrylic markers

The red splash at the end was my cat's fault. He's convinced he can paint too

But starting on this, I had a really messy watercolor base that went in all directions and the colors bled with each other but I like that sometimes UwU

Then I started on my pencil color lyer. Notice how I started with a pale lavender bse for the red. This is me practicing the color theory I was learning. So if it's red, you can do a violet, Blue or green base a you shading undertone. I think cuz if you do the rgb overlay, it comes out dark so I have been looking into that


Unfortunately I had to do a darker green and violet to get the shadows I wanted for my tulips but I'd count this as good practice fo myself.

This I when I was almost done with the flower itself and I was then doing the leaves, which wasn't much work or me, honestly but ts's still important t give it details so I mixed the blue an greens cuz I find the combination cute

Then I did my highlights! And annoying thing is, I got up for a minute to get something and when I came back, my cat already tipped over my palette so the red paint got on there as well as on my other stuff so I had to do a bit of cleaning earlier.
