Interview Selection Concluded; Eight Finalists Ready to Become Unimal Public Relations Ambassadors 2026

Eight candidates for the 2026 Malikussaleh University Public Relations Ambassador role have successfully passed the interview selection held at the Bukit Indah Campus Park, Lhokseumawe (Indonesia), on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Next, the participants will undergo an open talent showcase at the Bukit Indah Campus on Wednesday, September 16, followed by a Q&A session with the panel of judges on September 17, 2026. All students are encouraged to support the Public Relations Ambassador candidates, who will serve for the upcoming year.

Rachel Kamilia Faradiba Nibal, Chairperson of the 2026 Unimal Public Relations Ambassador Selection Committee, stated that the interview selection involved four judges from various backgrounds and disciplines.

The panel included Ella Suzanna (Universitas Malikussaleh lecturer) for psychology; Dewi Kumalasari for public speaking; Raisa Agustiana (Aceh Customary Council/Majelis Adat Aceh) for customs and culture; and Ayi Jufridar (Lhokseumawe City Bawaslu/Election Supervisory Body) for public relations programs. In addition to his past involvement with Universitas Malikussaleh’s Public Relations division, Ayi currently serves as the Coordinator of the Legal, Prevention, Public Participation, and Public Relations Division at Bawaslu Lhokseumawe.

Following a rigorous interview process, the four judges selected four female and four male candidates as finalists. The female finalists are Nabila Mawaddah (Communication Science), Najwa Syahira (Law), Nazwa Shaqi (Entrepreneurship), and Siti Khailillah Annisa (Business Administration).

The male finalists selected are Ahmad Jailani (Communication Science), Teuku Muhammad Haikal Rusli (Communication Science), Muhammad Yasir (Agrotechnology), and Teuku Pasha Al-Fatih Maulana (Electrical Engineering). One of the judges, Ayi Jufridar, acknowledged to the participants that all candidates possessed high and diverse qualities and capabilities, making it difficult for the panel to select the finalists—the Top 8.

“The participants' abilities this year are highly diverse and at a superior level compared to previous years,” stated Ayi, who has served as a judge for the Unimal Public Relations Ambassador selection three times.

Meanwhile, Ella Suzanna noted that all participants who made it to the Top 16 demonstrated high proficiency across various fields. However, the panel had to select the Top 8 by considering various aspects that could be academically justified.

“There were even participants whose selection sparked debate among the judges, though the discussions did not become overly contentious. Overall, the majority of the judges were in agreement regarding the finalists,” Ella revealed.

Rachel Kamilia Faradiba Nibal explained that the panel would select only one pair of Unimal Public Relations Ambassadors for 2026. A second pair would be determined through an audience vote at the Bukit Indah Campus on Thursday, September 17, at 15:00 WIB, although the final choice would still be subject to the judges' consideration.
