Portable Solar Fan / Light / Power Bank
Portable Solar Fan / Light / Power Bank
This is the third in my fan series, in honour of the ongoing heatwave in the UK and Europe, and this is the best of the 3. No, it doesn't create a mist like the first one and it's not as "hand-held" as the second one. It is, however, portable since it works off a battery.
It's actually a camping fan with extra use-cases. It's an emergency power bank, a light, as well as being a fan. It's moderately waterproof so it's meant to be used outdoors, or in a tent.
The winning feature of this fan is the solar panel that charges the battery. Even though the battery is chargeable via USB-C, and much faster of course, but it also charges via a solar panel at the back of the device. For a change, amazingly, the solar panel actually charges the device! I took the advantage of the longer days and direct sunlight to test it. I ran the battery to zero and placed it in the sun early in the morning. By the evening, the device had charged to 100%! It took around 10 hours which is insanely good actually! My power banks with the solar panels have never really charged via solar, no matter how long they're in the sun. I think they actually installed some quality solar panels on this device. In the intended use-case, this could actually help charge your phone or other USB device and save the day!
The fan is actually also relatively powerful. At the lowest setting, I left it on overnight and it only burnt about 75% of the battery. That's pretty acceptable!
Peace & Love,
Adé
