OCDB Whitelist Application

#newsteem in full force and I already like the looks of trending and how things have been evolving around here. I've already had a lot of talks with Steemians about the usage of @ocdb, many are a lot more careful with using max bids depending on the effort and quality of the content and that's amazing to see. Many of the more established ones have also stopped using it completely which is also great, we hope they will use their earned stake through OCDB well in the future through curation and of course downvoting! I'm hoping that over time OCDB can focus more on newcomers and giving them their kickstart into their Steem journey along with assistance from @ocd curation and @ocd-witness slider delegations that we have been actively doing as of late. Without getting too much into all the activity of @ocd lately as I have my hands super full right now I want to keep this post short.

We've had three Whitelist application/recommendation posts in the past and with the new HF we want to offer more active users on the blockchain another chance to join the whitelist who write high effort and quality original content. For those completely unaware of @ocdb, it works like this:

  • @ocd team of curators curate your post and add you to the compilation post, this gets you whitelisted normally
  • this means you can now use @ocdb daily by sending it a 2-20 SBD bid for your post, you decide how big the bid should be but keep the downvotes of the community in mind.
  • you get a 2.25x ROI upvote as of now (10% goes to the SPS and 50% goes to curators)
  • votes are now instant up to 4 day old posts, so you choose when you want to boost your post but here also remember that a lot of attention may also bring in more downvotes
  • for more details on how you should use it without possibly being the target of downvotes or getting removed from the whitelist, check out these guidelines
  • Vouching for authors through voting on the recommendation or commenting on it has an effect on the outcome depending on the accounts doing the vouching

How to apply for the OCDB whitelist

  1. Recommend a username or your own for the whitelist
  2. Add a few examples of their recent posts that portray their general quality
  3. If they aren't the highest quality authors but you feel they should be on the whitelist due to other reasons (such as what they do on/for Steem) then let us know what that is
  4. Has to be english content or english + native

There are no limits to how many you can recommend.
Not everyone will make it on the whitelist, we will check each manually and make an unanimous decision.
Check that the user isn't already in the whitelist to save us some time

The stricter guidelines recently posted will also take effect the chances of whitelisting a recommended user.

Pretty great isn't it? hf23 should bring in another layer of dynamic change and that one is communities and SMTs and hopefully great for content creators.

Yeah.... after 2 years here I have to move to Curation. I don’t get much from my photography, Artwork or other artistic endeavours anymore ...maybe a few pennies....... oh well.

Have to adapt to succeed on #NewSteem. Luckily I am making $$$ from my Videos on Youtube and Hideout.TV ....

Maybe change the parameters of the reward curve in HF23, @tarazkp? The curve is fine, but a most profitable payout at 20 STEEM again encourages bid botting, and sounds a bit like a crystal tower decision... 1 STEEM would be a fair threshold..

This is my main account, where I post freewrites & blogs about the various interests I have. I wouldn't say everything on here is worthy of a large upvote, some stuff I just post for fun & to chat, but when it comes to posts that I put a lot of effort into, I try my best to compost a pleasing blog-layout, I edit my photos (cropping, filtering, removing backgrounds, animating, or even making one from scratch), and I really try to format the post into a readable & engaging way.

However, this isn't the only place I'm posting. I also run the account @postplaygames, where I run various games of RPG & Play-by-Post adventures!

Currently, @postplaygames runs One Year RPG (link to latest chapter) & Dungeons & Dragons & Dummies (link to first episode).

Both of these games take considerable effort to manage and run on such a frequent basis (One Year RPG is daily, and D&D&D requires animated comic panels each week), and due to a lack of resources / funding I had to post-pone them for a little bit. I have major plans to bring them back soon, but getting whitelisted could help a lot in making them better than ever (such as adding rewards pool to the games where adventurers can actually win prizes just by playing along for free!).

One last note, sorry this is a long post haha, I also run @dlotto, the first fun & fair lotto game. No STEEM / SBD purchase required, no follow / liking required, just vote & win!

This is my experiment on seeing if it's possible to run a gambling / lotto game that isn't shady, scammy, nor money-draining. What if people could play for free & still win cool prizes? Well, I'm on my 5th round, and so far so good :^)

I love Steem, and love making things on it. I'm currently having to power-down my main account in order to funnel STEEM into these other projects to keep them afloat and grow.

Ok, I'm ending this real quick because I just scrolled down and realized how long this message is going to be. Sorry for making you read all that, just wanted to put my best foot forward! (I'd normally recommend others to not feel so greedy / self-centered, but everyone I'd recommend is already on the list, you have good taste! lol)

Finally i catch this whitelist. I want to nominate myself @ignacioarreses to be part of the whitelist.

I was producing original, funny, and diverse good content by myself since september last year.

I discover steemit, and then @dtube and i involved a lot of myself in that daps.

I'm probably the latest entry who nominates herself. I write only occasionally in English even though I'm fine with that language also. I have been a curator within the German community for some time and currently I'm hosting a weekly game and the German freewrite prompt. I have thought about applying for the whitelist and I decided last night that I want to go for it. Being a Steemian for two years now I'm no real newcomer but I won't be at one any later application date either.
If I would make it to the whitelist I would limit my use of the bot to my English articles and stories, of course.
