5 Awesome Things to do in Paris for FREE
Ah, Paris – the beauty of the city of lights is on the verge of being overwhelming.
The architecture is stunning, and the streets are filled with market stalls and noisy cafes.
Its building is full of famous painting, statues, and cathedrals. Paris is a city you simply must visit in Europe.
Unfortunately, to get the best views of the city and to stare in awe at the fantastic art it cost money. And by no means is Paris cheap.
However, poorer travelers (like myself) have hope. Paris has some amazing free things to offer. Here are some awesome things to do in Paris that won’t force you to break the bank.
5 AWESOME AND FREE THINGS TO DO IN PARIS
TAKE YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER TO THE LOVE WALL

For the cheapest date in Paris take your lover to the love wall.
This massive wall has the phrase ” I love you” scribbled all over it in numerous languages from all around the world
Get the iconic kissing picture beneath it, or if you are alone I suggest getting an ironic, sad-faced, selfie. Either way, it is a cool site for free.
Paris has many fun things to do in the city for free. These five things are full of the spirit the city embodies and will not break your bank.
OPEN AIR CINEMA
If you are visiting Paris in the summer and want a cheap night at the movies, then head to the Parc de la Villette for a free film.
While there is no cost for admission or seating in the park.
You can upgrade to a deckchair for around seven euros if you want something a little more comfortable.
FREE DAYS AT THE LOUVRE
Next, the Louvre is Paris’s crowning jewel and one of my favorite spots in the city.
It is possible to visit the permanent collections of the Louvre for free if you plan your trip to Paris at the right time.
On the first Sunday of the month, October through March, the admission to the museum is free.
If you are 18 and under your in luck because you always get in free.
Also, if you are under the age of 25, then admission is free on Friday nights from 6-10pm.
If you don’t match any of the above criteria and can’t afford the museum then sitting in the outside courtyard and go people watching.
It is almost as good as the museum itself.
EXPLORE JARDIN DU LUXEMBOURG
You don’t have to visit a museum to get your history fix.
Check out Paris’s second largest park the Jardin du Luxembourg.
Not only is the park itself stunning and filled with fountains, but it also has hundreds of statues and monuments from the 17th century.
The fountains and statues alone make it worth the visit, and it is one of the best ways to see art in Paris for free.
WANDER PERE LACHAISE
The largest cemetery in Paris is one of the best to take a stroll. The area is extremely picturesque with stained glass windows, and finely detailed mausoleums. Also is not very well known among the tourist crowd.
Many famous figures such as Oscar Wilde, Chopin, and Jim Morrison are laid to rest under the beautiful windows and statues of this cemetery.
